Erstwilder Fleur Harris Brooch Haul

Erstwilder has been killing it with their jewellery collections these last few months, but I'm so behind with actually blogging about the pretty pieces I've been buying from them.

There are a few Erstwilder hauls I want to show you, so today, let's start with the Fleur Harris Woodlands collection which was released in the summer.

The Erstwilder x Fleur Harris Woodlands collaboration features the Australian artist's whimsical woodland animal and nature designs brought to life as brooches, necklaces, earrings, hair clips, and enamel pins, and it's blooming with cottage core vibes.

It's one of my favourite ranges since the last Woodlands collection a couple of years ago, and one I could've happily bought every piece of. Luckily for my bank balance, I managed to limit myself to four.

Here's what I got:

I used to be the proud bunny mama of two big ginger bunnies, so I was naturally drawn to the Dainty Bunny brooch, and knew it had to come live with me. I mean, I've only got one other rabbit brooch in my collection, and they're social creatures, so it would've been cruel not to give it a friend, right? Right! (I love how I justify these things)! Dainty Bunny is the sweetest, most well-dressed bunny in the land, proudly sitting on her haunches, with a glittery white ruff collar around her neck. I love the walnut-brown ripple resin she's made from, and how the swirls of the resin give her a fluffy appearance, to look like real fur. It's available in the UK here.

There was also a second bunny brooch in the Fleur Harris collection, with completely different vibes to the other. The kind that any six-year-old animal-lover would love as much as us animal-loving kids at heart- a delicate white ripple resin Ballerina Bunny! One dressed in a tutu and ballet slippers, and holding a star wand like an Olympic torch! Cutest. Brooch. Ever? I think so! Although, after she arrived, my Mum made me feel childish for buying it, and I wasn't sure it actually went with any of my clothes, so I changed my mind, and decided to resell it. There's no point holding on to a brooch I'd probably never end up wearing. No matter how cute it might be. This one sold out so fast in the UK, but a stockist in Tasmania surprisingly still has some available here.

The next piece I picked out certainly won't be getting resold anytime soon, though. I'm kinda smitten with the tattoo-style Graceful Swallow brooch, and the beautiful teal ripple resin it's made from, which reminds me of light dancing on the sea. It also has a grey ripple-resin face and breast, a little gold beak, and a flush of pink on its cheek. It's such a lovely design, and I love that it looks modern and youthful, instead of like something your Nana might wear, as a lot of bird brooches have a tendency to do. I think it would make a great tattoo, and I'll admit, I'm tempted. Sadly, this brooch sold out quickly from Erstwilder and UK stockists, but it is still for sale from an American stockist here.

My last pick is a little more twee than I'd usually go for, but it was so cute I couldn't say no. I mean, who doesn't love a fuzzy duckling? Now, how about a pair of Well Dressed Ducklings, who've already learnt the difference accessorising can make in turning their feathers from drab to fab, with their fancy pearl necklace, and bow tie? I don't know about you, but I think they're adorable. I bought them with Easter in mind, as their daffodil (ripple resin) colourings will be perfect for spring time outfits, but they' look just as great with autumn colours, too. Erstwilder Halloween Simplified Brooches and Earrings

Halloween is fast approaching, which means it's the time of year when Erstwilder release their Halloween jewellery collections.

I didn't buy anything from their main Halloween collection this year as my favourite pieces were all recolourings of brooches I already own, but I was powerless to resist their recent simplified Halloween range.

The simplified collection is just what it sounds like- Erstwilder jewellery but simplified. Like their Essentials earrings, they're designed a little smaller than the pieces in the standard collections, with less layers of resin and simpler detailing, making them more affordable, while still retaining the same charm. What's not to love about that?

I was so excited when I saw that they were bringing out Halloween basics, and that so many of them were ridiculously cute. I ended up coming away with three mini brooches, and a pair of earrings, and I'm obsessed. Let me take you down with me by showing you what I got.

First up is the creepy-cute Skull mini brooch. Well, it wouldn't be Halloween without a skull or two, so it just had to join my collection. He's made from white resin sandwiched between two thin layers of textured silver ripple resin, which gives him a scarred appearance while adding a bit of sparkle. And his asymmetrical eye sockets and upside down heart-shaped nose somehow just make him look adorable instead of creepy, so it shouldn't scare off any small children. Which may be good or bad, depending on your thoughts on children.

I didn't have a pumpkin brooch in my collection, so the Jack O' Lantern mini brooch got added to my basket so fast. This gourd-geous mutilated vegetable is crafted from two layers of burnt-orange ripple resin, with a little black stalk, and painted black features. It's perfect for wearing alone, or for pairing with other Halloween brooches for more of a statement.

My favourite piece from the range has to be the Ghost mini brooch. He's the cutest little phantom I've ever seen, and he was a need, not just a want. Like the skull, he's another brooch made from plain white and silver ripple resin with painted details, and I love how the ripple resin adds depth, so he looks like he isn't fully corporeal.

I also bought a matching pair of Ghost Drop Earrings in white because these happy little ghosts are so damn cute that they've stolen my heart. They're just over half the length of my thumb, and like the brooch, they're made of a silver ripple resin layered over plain white. If silver and white isn't your thing or you just want to collect them all, they also come in glow in the dark and iridescent colour ways. I was so tempted by the iridescent pair, but the white are definitely my favourites.

It's been a minute since I last reviewed some Erstwilder jewellery on the blog- it's been a minute since I blogged at all- so I think it's time to rectify that with a look at the latest additions to my brooch zoo.

I haven't actually added many to my collection over the last six months or so. I've either not been wowed enough by the designs to splurge, or when I have, I've not had the pennies to be able to. The last piece I bought was from the Valentine's collection, and it's the only brooch I've bought since the Kutopia collection was released before Christmas. What is happening to me?! 

I might not have bought a lot lately, but the ones I have acquired are ridiculously cute. Especially the first brooch I have to show you, Stevie the Seahorse.

I really loved the Kutopia collection Erstwilder did with the artist Kacey Rainbow at the end of 2023, and as a big animal lover and colour junkie, I couldn't help but be drawn to the colourful animal designs. I could only afford one piece since it came out just before Christmas, so of course, Stevie the Seahorse won. Why? Well, just look at him! He's the cutest seahorse brooch ever!

I love the soft, summery colours he's made from. The glittery coral and bubblegum-pink of his body and spine, and the turquoise of his fin are so pretty, and the rainbow of colours freckling his head and neck add such a fun finishing touch. He'll be perfect for wearing with colourful summer dresses, especially for trips to the seaside or aquarium. Not that I visit either often these days, but it's good to have these things planned out just in case!

I was also lucky enough to be given Warren the Wombat brooch from the Kutopia collection for Christmas from my parents, after pointing them in the right direction when they asked for ideas. My Mum chose well. I have a soft spot for wombats, and this brooch is almost as adorable as the real thing. Almost. (Sorry, Erstwilder, but nothing quite beats a real wombat).

This handsome little guy is made from the sparkliest russet brown resin, with equally sparkly coral-pink ears, peachy cheeks, and a coronet of multi-coloured shapes crowning his head. He's gorgeous, and I love him. I've got so much wear out of him already.

The last brooch I bought was the (now sold-out) Our Deer Sweetheart brooch from the Love Everlasting Valentine's collection. This dainty little deer reminded me of the mid-century-style Bambi deer Christmas decorations I love to collect, so I couldn't resist the chance to own a Bambi deer brooch I could wear all year round. Three months on, I regret nothing. It's one of the loveliest brooches in my collection.

This sweet little deer is made from the prettiest dusky pink and white marbled resins, with a glossy scarlet ripple resin bow around her neck, and five red hearts instead of spots on her flank. She's a small brooch, barely bigger than my thumb, and though she's wonderful at this size, I think they missed something not making her into a statement piece. She'd be perfect if she was just a little bigger.

I was also given a pair of the purple Moon Mirror drop earrings for Christmas from my parents, which are, apparently, the hardest things ever to photograph properly because they're reflective. They're made from light-weight, violet-coloured mirrored-resin, and they're the perfect, affordable statement earrings. They're the biggest earrings I own, and so fun to accessorise with. They're still available from Erstwilder, and some of their stockists, and if purple's not your thing, they come in red and gold, too.

It's been over seven months since I last reviewed some Erstwilder brooches on the blog, and boy, have I got the best collection to come back with.

The My Little Pony collection!

Or at least, the three brooches I bought from it.

A couple of months ago, Erstwilder released the most amazing fully-licenced My Little Pony collection made up of brooches, necklaces, earrings, enamel pins, and key rings inspired by ten of the original My Little Ponys of the 1980s.

I loved My Little Ponys growing up and played with them often- I clearly remember having a yellow one with a bright blue mane called Tootsie- so I was so excited when Erstwilder first revealed this collection, especially knowing how fantastic their Care Bears collections had been. The only problem was, I could only afford one for myself at first, and since Tootsie wasn't in the collection and I can't remember which others I owned, deciding was a task and a half. It took me hours to narrow down my favourites! Sometimes I wish Erstwilder would make some ugly designs to make choosing easier.

In the end, my first choice from the collection was Minty- a mint green pony with three-leafed-clovers on her hip, a teal-green eye, and a glittery off-white mane and tail accessorised with a spearmint-blue ribbon. I'm a sucker for anything mint-green, so I just couldn't resist her- and who could blame me? She's so pretty! Just look at her! Plus she goes with my My Little Pony smock dress from Truffle Shuffle, so I can enjoy some matchy-matchiness. The first time I wore Minty out of the house, I even got complimented on her by two women while book shopping in Waterstones, so I think that proves she's a winner. Minty appears to be sold out everywhere now, but there is a matching enamel pin still available.

Starshine is a recent addition to my brooch collection, and the first piece I've ever bought directly from Erstwilder in Australia. It sold out from all the UK stockists before I could treat myself and when I was shopping for Care Bears for my sister's birthday, I couldn't resist adding it to my basket. (Apparently, I have no self-control). My order arrived within two weeks, and surprisingly, I didn't get any customs charges! (My sister's friend has in the past, though, so I'm not saying you won't, but on an order of three brooches to England, I didn't. I'm assuming she placed a larger order to have been hit with charges, but I don't know what the actual criteria is for charges on shipping jewellery from Australia to the UK). Whatever the reason, Starshine is such a fun, colourful piece, and with all those colours, it definitely makes my inner-child happy. She's a glossy, off-white pegasus pony, with a teal eye, and best of all, her mane and tail are a bold rainbow of glittery candyfloss pink, sunshine yellow, spring green, and turquoise blue, with a matching turquoise bow knotted in the flowing strands. The colours are so fun and cheerful, and it's impossible not to be happy while wearing it. If brooches aren't your thing or you just like to go with 'more is more', there's also a matching Starshine necklace, and earrings to choose from.

And last but not least we have Applejack- although, I didn't buy this one for myself, but as a birthday present for my older sister. It's a little too orange for my taste, but she's always loved crazy, bold colours, and it was her favourite My Little Pony growing up. Applejack is a glossy, deep-orange-coloured pony with red apples on her flank, and has a glittery daffodil-yellow mane and tail tied with a baby blue bow. As usual, no small detail has been missed, so she also has a green eye, and little white freckles on her cheek. She has such a nostalgic look, and with those bright colours, she's the perfect brooch for anyone who likes their jewellery to make a statement.

Each piece comes presented in a rainbow-striped My Little Pony gift box, which has to be one of their best gift box designs to date. They make the brooches lovely gifts for My Little Pony fans- especially for yourself!

Erstwilder x Pete Cromer 4.0: Wildlife Jewellery Collection

Waiting to find out what Erstwilder's next collecton will be is part of the fun of collecting their awesome jewellery, and I could not have been more surprised when a new Pete Cromer collection dropped last month.

After three fantastic collaborations, I never expected we'd get a fourth from them, but the best surprises are the ones we don't see coming. The Pete Cromer collections, which see the Australian artist's colourful contemporary artwork reimagined as resin jewellery, have been some of my favourite ranges to date, and the latest collection has been no exception.

The new Wildlife collection has, unsurprisingly, been inspired by Cromer's Wildlife series, which is made up of beautiful paintings of wild animals from around the world. There are lions and tigers, toucans and macaws, crocodiles and pandas, and so much more, with the designs reproduced as brooches, necklaces, rings, earrings, and even scarves. 

The collection was split in to two parts, with a smaller first release in late June, and a larger second drop in mid-July. There were soooo many pieces I would've loved to have collected, but I had to limit myself to one piece from the first release, and bought three from the second. Narrowing down my favourites took forever- especially with the second release- as I fell in love with everything.

Who'd like to see what I got?

So, even though I could only afford one piece from part one of the collection, there was no doubt in my mind which brooch it was going to be. I needed the toucan brooch in my life. I've always loved toucans, and The Tactful Toucan brooch is a little work of art, bringing Cromer's toucan painting to life with startling accuracy. It's amazing how Erstwilder are able to translate his art in to resin, including all of the little details and pops of colour that make Cromer's work so distinctive, but on a much smaller scale. Some of the detailing is tiny, but they've recreated it all flawlessly. The end result is a striking toucan brooch with a body made from textured black and silver resin, and an impressive beak crafted from plain orange and glittery raspberry. It's been embellished with colourful shapes in a mix of different plain and textured resins, including little pops of blue, green, yellow, pink, silver, and more. It's an amazing piece, and I love it so much. I can't help thinking it would make a great tattoo.

My favourite piece from the second part of the collection has to be The Cautious Camel brooch. I don't know what it is about it exactly, but I think it has so much character, and it's cute face just makes me smile. It's body is made up of buff, camel, grey and taupe bubble and pearlescent resins, but as you'd expect from Pete Cromer, it's anything but plain and boring. It's decorated with a bridle of colourful dots and scallops in a variety of jewel colours, as if it's dressed up for a fun parade instead of leading a caravan through the desert, and the colours make it such a fun piece to pin to a summer outfit. It's so pretty.

Another piece I found myself instantly drawn to was The Learned Lemur, which I partly chose because I have a dress with lemurs on it that it will go perfectly with, and also because it reminded me of the time I did work experience with ruffed lemurs when I was at college. The Learned Lemur is a fantastic ringtailed lemur brooch, crafted from the most amazing galaxy-effect resin that appears grey from a distance, but is actually a beautiful mix of grey, green, blue, and purple. It's tail has the characteristic ringtailed stripes in pops of black, white, green, blue, and grey, and it has gorgeous light grey pearlescent markings on its face and chest. And as you'd expect, it's finished with a scattering of colourful little shapes in true Pete Cromer style. 

It took me a while to narrow down my short list of favourites- which also included the tiger, macaw, and giraffe- to pick my final piece, but in the end, I just couldn't resist the meerkat brooch, The Masterful Meerkat. Whether they're comparing meerkats or singing Hakuna Matata with a warthog, everyone loves a meerkat, right? I think this little guy is adorable, and its cute little feet, layered on top of the body, won me over. He's made from a mesmerising pearlescent taupe resin, with plain buff, black, tan, and taupe markings on his face and chest, and decorated with a variety of shapes in shades of blue, white, yellow, and black, all inlaid in to the resin. I'm not often drawn to neutral-coloured accessories as I prefer things a little more colourful, but Master meerkat doesn't blend in to the background. It's a great statement piece, sure to be a great conversation starter, and will be perfect for trips to the zoo. Now I just need Pete Cromer and Erstwilder to make a warthog brooch for the ultimate brooch pairing.

I've collected a handful of new Erstwilder brooches and earrings over the last few months that I've not yet shown you, so today I'm here with a little jewellery haul.

I haven't gone crazy buying brooches since my last Erstwilder post in July. I've bought a brooch here and there, one or two at a time, but I haven't splurged, and there have been several collections I haven't shopped from at all. Partly as I needed my pennies for my holiday last month, and also because I haven't been hugely excited by some of the recent collections. I love the five new brooches and three pairs of earrings I have collected, though, so I think it's time for a look-see and some mini reviews.

Let's start with my favourite new Care Bear brooch...

I loved last year's Care Bears collection, so I was excited when Erstwilder returned with a second Care Bears range at the end of the summer. I would have loved to have splurged on Care Bears again, but I couldn't justify it before my holiday, and limited myself to one piece. For once, choosing which design to buy was easy; I had to have the Trick-or-Sweet Bear brooch in my life. I mean, who doesn't need an orange vampire-cloaked Care Bear brooch in their life?? He's so cute dressed in his red and black cloak, with a happy little pumpkin on his stomach, and makes a sweet alternative to the usual creepy Halloween ghosts, bats, and vampire designs. I love this little guy so much, and can't stop wearing him. I'll be sad to pack him away for another year in a few days time.

A couple of months ago, my Mum treated me to Scorpio the Serene, an awesome scorpion brooch from the 2018 Written in the Stars collection. She managed to snag it, and a Capricorn brooch for herself, for just £7.50 each from Glitterally's closing down sale! I'm actually a Cancer not a Scorpio, but I don't pay much attention to astrology, (even if I am apparently a typical Cancer), so to me it's just a cool scorpion brooch. The design is awesome. It's been made from glossy hot pink and cherry red resins, and is finished with three white pearlescent stars on its pincers. It's so eye-catching, and I'm sure you'll agree, a whole lot cuter than a real, living breathing scorpion. Thanks, Mum.

In July, I bought a couple of beautiful cockatoo brooches from the Erstwilder x Jocelyn Proust collaboration. I've always loved cockatoos because they're so cute and cheeky, and I instantly fell in love with them in brooch form, too. The only problem was, I couldn't choose between the two designs in the collection, so I had to add them both to my brooch zoo. I regret nothing! 

The first of my new feathered friends is Major Mitch, which is, unsurprisingly, a Major Mitchell cockatoo brooch. Major Mitch is a pearlescent pink parrot with textured silver and red feathers on his wings, tail, and crest, and he's a beauty. I love how much character this little guy has. I especially love the pearlescent pink and marbled red resins used in this design, and I'm impressed by how intricate the crest feathers are. They look delicate and breakable, but they're actually three layers thick, and as solid as a rock, so I don't have to worry about accidentally breaking them. I can just pin it to my outfit with confidence, and be on my merry, perfectly accessorised way.

The other Jocelyn Proust cockatoo brooch I adopted is a sulphur-crested cockatoo called 'Hey Cocky.' These kind of cockatoos are one of my favourite types of parrots, so I just couldn't resist adding this brooch to my collection. It's so lovely and makes me smile every time I wear it. Hey Cocky is a dainty little brooch not much bigger than my thumb. He's made from shimmery cream marbled resin, with lemon and daffodil yellow feathers, and a marbled grey beak and feet. It's such a sweet brooch, and I love how realistic it is. I have a feeling I'll still be wearing this one when I'm old and grey. 

And the latest brooch to join my Erstwilder collection is La Lune, a gorgeous crescent moon brooch from the Halloween collection 'Cute & Spooky by Mimsy'. It was designed by the Australian tattoo artist Mimsy Gleeson, and is a beautiful, sleeping, pearlescent moon surrounded by turquoise and lavender coloured flowers, and a tangle of lime and apple green leaves. The colours are a little more vibrant than I was expecting and I wasn't sure if I liked them at first, but now they've grown on me, I see they're the perfect contrast against the silvery moon, and a nice alternative to orange and black for Halloween. The brooch is too beautiful to save just for Halloween, though, and I'll definitely be wearing it all year round.

As well as brooches, I've also added a few pairs of Essentials earrings to my collection since my last update. I bought a pair of glittery purple crescent moon studs in Glitterally's sale for just £2, which were such a bargain. I think they were from one of the Pete Cromer collections (maybe the second one?), and they'd been on my wish list for ages. I also bought two pairs of heart studs from the Care Bears collection, but some time after they were released in the summer. I got a glittery red pair (to replace a plain red pair that had broken), and a gorgeous marbled blue pair, made up of shades of teal, turquoise, lime, and mauve. I love them! The new earrings are made from two layers of resin instead of one like the old ones, and seem much sturdier, so I hope they're an improved design Erstwilder are planning to use for future Essentials studs, and aren't just a one-off. I've had the backs break off a few old pairs this year, which isn't the end of the world at £6 a pair, but it would be nice if they held up longer. They're only cheap, simple earrings, but I really enjoy wearing them with my brooches for some matchy-matchiness.

And those are the newest additions to my ever-growing Erstwilder collection. I'm sure I'll be back with more brooch reviews when the Christmas collection launches next month! I can't wait!

My Erstwilder jewellery collection has really flourished over the last few years, but until recently, I didn't have any dinosaur pieces in my collection. Not a single one. I knew that was totally unacceptable, so when Erstwilder launched their Dinosauria collection last month, I made it my mission to fill a few gaps.

I could have happily bought the entire twenty-four piece collection, but money doesn't grow on trees like it does in Animal Crossing (if only!), so I limited myself to two brooches, and a pair of Essentials earrings.

My first choice from the collection was the Neck and Neck brooch- which was a no-brainer since long-neck dinosaurs have always been my favourite kind of dinosaurs. (They were the best; don't fight me on this)! Erstwilder released this design in two colour variations; a softer lilac and green, and a deeper emerald and teal, and I went for the latter because I'm a sucker for emerald green. This beautiful brooch features a pair of green and blue brachiosauruses standing back to back with their faces together, creating a cute heart cut-out between their incredibly long necks. The dinosaur on the left is made from a gorgeous emerald green glitter resin, and the other an incredible mottled mix of teals, lavender, lime and grey- a new resin for Erstwilder that fans have been going crazy for. I was sold on the colours of the resins alone... I mean, just look at how pretty this brooch is! I can't get enough of it. If you're swooning, too, both colour ways are still available from Erstwilder and some of their stockists, so snap one up while you can! 

If I had to pick a favourite piece from the Dinosauria collection, it would probably be Peter Plant Eater. Peter is a pretty purple plant-eating parasaurolophus (try saying that three times fast!), and while it's never been one of my favourite dinosaurs, it's definitely one of my all time favourite brooches. The striking green and purple marbled resins lured me in online, and blew me away in person. The dinosaur is a shimmering mix of lilac, lavender, mauve, and pistachio, with an apricot crest, purple legs, and a pearlescent belly, hidden in a tangle of vibrant spring green leaves, with an olive-green palm tree in the background. It's so beautiful, and such an underrated piece from the collection. The resins (especially the purple) are some of the loveliest I've ever seen. It's still available from several UK stockists, so if you've been sitting on the fence with this one, just take my word for it, it's perfect, and you need it!

I also came away with the Triceratops drop earrings in emerald. I don't wear drop earrings often, but I just couldn't resist them. They're the coolest earrings ever! They're made from chunky ripple glitter resin in the most amazing shades of teal and emerald green, and have a generous scattering of fine gold glitter running through them. (If emerald isn't your thing, they also come in a few other colours). The resin is mesmerising. I'd love to see more pieces made from it in the future. The best part about these earrings is that they were so affordable at just £5.50, so they allow you to indulge your love of dinosaurs and funky accessories without breaking the bank. They're great quality, too, but at the same time, they're nice and light-weight, so they don't make your ears ache when you've been wearing them a while, which is awesome. Ain't nobody got time for that!

There are still quite a few brooches, earrings, and necklaces from the Dinosauria collection available from Erstwilder and their stockists, so if you're a fan of dinosaurs, I'd definitely recommend you check them out. About two months and five jewellery collections ago, Erstwilder, surprised us all by releasing its third collection with the Australian artist, Pete Cromer. It had only been a few months since they'd last teamed up for a Christmas collection, so I sure didn't see this one coming. 

The Erstwilder collaborations with Pete Cromer have been some of my favourite collections because his colourful, contemporary designs make the coolest jewellery, and the third range has been no exception. It's easily one of their best collections yet. It's an incredible twenty-five piece collection of brooches, earrings, and cardi-clips, and features many of his Australian animal designs brought to life as wearable art, along with a few other animals from around the world, and some of his adorable Druids, too.

As soon as I saw the live reveal, I fell in love with everything, and seriously considered selling a kidney so I could buy it all. Luckily, for my kidneys, I had a perfectly-timed online bingo win, and was able to buy six of my favourite pieces without losing any vital organs, or feeling too guilty for splurging this time. I love it when things work out! The only hard part was choosing which brooches to buy because each design was incredible, but boy, did I pick some beauties.

Let's start with one of my favourites from the collection- The Quaint Eastern Quoll brooch. I'm sure some of you are wondering what the hell a quoll is. A quoll is a spotted, carnivorous marsupial that looks like a cross between a Tasmanian devil and an Australian possum, and it's super cute. There are six different species, and this brooch is based on the Eastern quoll, which is widespread across Tasmania, and has recently been reintroduced back in to Australia after going extinct in the country in the 1960s. This gorgeous little guy instantly caught my eye, and despite already having a quoll brooch in my collection from another brand, I just couldn't resist adding it to my brooch zoo. It was too pretty to leave behind. I think I'm just a sucker for anything freckled like me! He's made from a stunning textured black and grey resin, with white bubble resin spots across his coat, taupe and caramel accents, and some bubblegum-pink and teal markings to his ear and eye. He's such a little cutie, and probably my favourite piece from the entire collection. I just love this design so much.

There was one brooch that caught my eye simply because of how colourful it was, and that was The Radiant Rainbow Lorikeet brooch. Just like the real Aussie parrots, it's so vibrant and eye-catching, and it's a great statement piece with both colourful and monochrome outfits. I love wearing it with black clothes to make the colours pop. This lovely little lorikeet is made up of about eighteen different colours with a vivid cobalt blue for it's head and an amazing ombre yellow and orange bubble resin for it's body that basically looks like a Tequila Sunrise. It's also decorated with a variety of shapes in Cromer's distinct style, ranging in colour from pink to teal, and it's truly a work of art. The resins Erstwilder used to make it are stunning. 

As a big animal lover, I always find myself drawn to brooches of unusual animals (the weirder the better!) so naturally, The Notorious Numbat brooch was an instant favourite of mine from this collection. If you're not familiar, a numbat is an insectivorous marsupial from Western Australia that kind of looks like a cross between a yellow mongoose and a chipmunk, and it's pretty darn cute. Pete Cromer's numbat design has so much character, and Erstwilder have done a fabulous job of bringing it to life with a mixture of textured and bubble resins in shades of caramel, white, black, mint, and more. I love the monochrome stripes on it's back and leg, and it's unique little zig-zag tail, It's such a great design, and one that will definitely keep people guessing. Fun fact: Notorious isn't the first numbat in my brooch collection; I also have a hot pink numbat brooch from an old Australiana Erstwilder collection, which was one of the first Erstwilder pieces I ever bought! 

Before this collection was released, one of the first brooches that caught my eye in the spoilers was The Rare Red Tail Cockatoo brooch; a black cockatoo that looks like it's going through it's emo phase. It was one of those pieces I instantly knew I'd be buying, even before I'd seen the whole collection. The design is just so unique and striking, and so different to the usual white cockatoo designs. (There was actually a pastel Major Mitchell Cockatoo brooch in this collection, too, which I was so tempted by, but it looked too similar to the Galah brooch I bought from the first collection, so I reluctantly chose a different design instead). Erstwilder spoiled us by releasing this brooch in two sizes; mini and standard, and I stuck to the standard size as sometimes bigger really is better- more space to show off all the incredible details! Details like it's ebony textured-resin face and crest with delicate silver glitter running through it, that's topped with a generous helping of yellow-gold freckles. It's body is a gorgeous marbled navy blue, and it's decorated with little shapes in red, orange, yellow, and black bubble and marbled resins. Who says black and navy have to be boring?

Not all of the designs in the Pete Cromer collection were Australian animal inspired. There were also some creatures from closer to home, like a rabbit, a French bulldog, and  couple of red foxes. With foxes being one of my favourite animals, I've never been able to resist anything fox related, and while I have a few Erstwilder fox brooches in my collection, I just had to have The Footloose Fox brooch in my life, too. (I went for the standard size, but there was also a mini brooch to choose from). It's a beautiful brooch made from orange, black, and white bubble resins, and a mesmerising glittery marbled orange resin for it's body, ear, and eye, which I absolutely love. It's finished off with marbled grey shapes with glitter flecks running through them, a gorgeous marbled red tear drop on it's brush, and a couple of white bubble resin hearts on it's chest and tail. It's one of the most beautiful fox brooches I've ever seen, and I know I'm going to be wearing this one to death for a long time to come.

And the final piece I chose was The Wondrous Wombat. Wombats have always been one of my favourite Aussie animals, and I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to add a wombat to my brooch zoo- especially when it was as cute as this one. I mean, just look at that chunky round body, and those gorgeous earthy colours! He's the sweetest little wombat brooch ever. He's been crafted from two shades of coffee coloured bubble resin, with grey bubble and marbled resins for his nose and cheek. and simple black and orange features. I think my favourite parts are the two green leaves on one of his front legs, and the sun-like pattern of mini triangles and concentric semi-circles in burnt orange, peach, brown, and lime on his side. Isn't he beautiful? 

It's been a couple of months since I bought these brooches, but I still love this collection so much. I've been getting so much wear out of them already, and they always make me smile when I catch a glimpse of them pinned to my outfits.

Sadly, (for you, not for Erstwilder and Pete Cromer) many of these brooches sold out on release day because they were unsurprisingly popular, but I've linked to what's still available in the UK above, and there are several other designs still available from Erstwilder and their stockists. If you want to hunt down a sold out piece, try eBay or Erstwilder fan resale sites. I'd still love to get my hands on the emu and cockatiel brooches, and wish I'd bought the fairy wren.

I've added a few new Erstwilder brooches to my collection since my last Erstwilder post in December, so I thought I'd combine them in to one post, and show you what I've been buying.

Let's start with the newest and work our way back.

The most recent addition to my brooch zoo is a mama and baby koala brooch called Koolah and Guula, an old Erstwilder design which has been reworked for their latest Fan Favourites collection. I love Australian animals and collecting brooches of obscure creatures, so I just couldn't resist adding this cute duo to my collection. I mean, who doesn't love koalas?? It's been released at least twice before, with different textured resins used for the koalas each time. This time, the koalas are made from glossy medium-grey textured resins, with a scattering of iridescent glitter strips mixed in to the resin of the mama koala, which highlight the koala with a rainbow of colour every time the light hits them. It's such a fun piece to wear, and perfect for adding a little sparkle to your outfits. It's still available from Erstwilder and some of their stockists, so snap one up fast!

Next up is Prim Petals, a pale pink rose brooch from last month's A Floral Affair collection. I was instantly drawn to this brooch because it looked so darn pretty, but also just because I love roses. Yellow ones are my favourites ( I looovvve yellow flowers), but pink ones would probably come second. For some reason, pink roses always remind me of my childhood. My Mum always had some growing in the garden, and I remember carefree summer days in the early nineties making rose water perfume with neighbourhood friends and petals picked from neighbours' gardens. (I was coerced! I always felt guilty about ruining some old dear's flowers). I don't know why pink roses bring back those memories, but they always do. 

This pretty rose is made from a mixture of marbled, textured, bubble, and iridescent resins in six or seven shades of pink, ranging from delicate blush to vibrant flamingo. My favourite parts are the iridescent petals which shimmer pink, blue, and pistachio, and the freckling of iridescent glitter strips set in to the resins. I can't resist a bit of shimmer and sparkle! It's also finished with two dark green marbled leaves- one emerald, and one evergreen, which compliment the pink petals perfectly. It's such a beautiful brooch, and the perfect finishing touch for all kinds of outfits, but especially with florals for spring (and summer). Ground breaking.

Purple Prose was my second choice from A Floral Affair, but turned out to be my favourite of the two pieces I chose- and one of my favourite pieces of jewellery ever. And for once, it's not a brooch! They're my first ever set of cardi clips, which I chose as I loved the stunning holly hock designs, but preferred the cardi clips to the brooch. (Though, naturally, I have actually been wearing them as a brooch, with one flower pinned higher than the other). I love that you can wear them as cardi or collar clips, or arranged in different ways as a brooch- they're so versatile. 

It's also one of the prettiest pieces of jewellery I've ever owned. This pair of purple holly hock flowers are made from two layers of the most incredible marbled resin that is made up of lots of different shades of purple- lavender, lilac, amethyst, mauve, and more, mixed with raspberry, and a little bit of smokey-blue. The colours are much softer and purple-based than my camera has captured- for some reason it's picked up the subtle raspberry shades and emphasized them. The stock photos show the colours of the resin more accurately, although, each piece will differ slightly due to the unique marbling of the resin. The marbling is so beautiful, and I hope Erstwilder use it for more designs in the future. At the moment, there's also a matching necklace, brooch, and earrings, and I'd love to collect them all.

Back in early December, I blogged about my purchases from the Erstwilder x Pete Cromer 2.0 collection, but there was one piece that didn't arrive until just before Christmas- the big man himself- Santa Clause. Mr Claus was apparently too busy getting ready for Christmas to put in an early appearance, but luckily, he arrived just in time for me to wear him on Christmas Eve. I chose this brooch because I didn't have a Santa Claus brooch in my collection, and it was one of the cutest brooches of jolly old Saint Nick I'd ever seen. It was designed by the Australian artist Pete Cromer, and thanks to his fun, distinct style, it's absolutely charming.

The little guy is your classic Santa, wearing a red and white suit, with a sack of presents over his shoulder, but with one unique feature- he's wearing vertically-striped red and white trousers! I think I would've preferred them to match his jacket, but they do add a fun twist, and help set the piece apart from all the other Santa brooches out there. Aside from his glossy bubble resin trousers, Santa Clause is wearing a gorgeous marbled-resin, cherry-red coat; a matching hat with a glittery white trim and a pearlescent white pom pom; a plain black belt and boots; and black mittens with a glittery silver trim. Over his shoulder, he's carrying a marbled camel-coloured sack, tied with a red ribbon, and decorated with a sprig of holly. He also has a magnificent beard and head of hair crafted from a gorgeous pearlescent marbled resin, and a little peach face just visible beneath them. I love the resins used to make him. They've made him in to such a beautiful piece, and I'm already counting down to December when I can wear him again. Unfortunately, this brooch sold out really quickly and is no longer available, so try eBay or fan resale sites if you want to track one down.

And last but not least, back in November, I bought a little mouse brooch called Rainbow Rain from the Whatever the Weather collection, which was released in support of the charities Headspace and Minus18. Rainbow Rain has to be the most adorable brooch I've seen in my life. Just. Look. At. Him! I dare you to find a cuter brooch that this little grey mouse and his rainbow umbrella. Who am I kidding? There isn't a cuter brooch than this little grey mouse and his rainbow umbrella! He is the definition of cuteness. This little marbled light grey mouse doesn't let rainy days get him down; he creates his own rainbows to brighten up the dark days with his bubble-resin rainbow umbrella. He's the perfect piece to make you smile, brighten up a bad day, or to show your pride with. Personally, this brooch reminds me to look for rainbows when it rains; to find the positives in the negatives. It's my perfect piece for chronic illness and Covid life, and to wear on bad mental health days. This is another piece that, unsurprisingly, sold out incredibly quickly, so again, try fan resale groups if you have to have one in your life.

And that's everything I've added to my Erstwilder collection over the last couple of months. I can't help but wonder what I'll add to it next!
