Wednesday Wish List


Here are a few things on my wish list this week...

After the success of last year's Peter Rabbit collection, which sold out incredibly fast, Erstwilder have relaunched some of their most popular Beatrix Potter designs in brand new resins. The Peter Rabbit 2020 collection went on sale just this morning, and features six of Beatrix Potter's most beloved characters in brooch form including Peter Rabbit, Jemima Puddle Duck, Benjamin Bunny and more.

I grew up reading Beatrix Potter stories and watching the series on TV, so I can't help loving this little collection. I'm thrilled it's made a return as I missed out on the original designs last year, but history seems to be repeating itself as I can't afford to shop this time, either. I'd love to get my hands on the beautiful Jemima and Peter brooches, but I doubt I'll be lucky enough for them to still be in stock when I get paid next week. Sob! If you're completely smitten with the brooches, shop now, because they never stick around for long!

Erstwilder have also released a brand new range of Peter Rabbit inspired Essentials earrings to compliment the brooches, featuring bunny shaped stud and drop earrings in two designs and seven different finishes. I love bunnies and used to have two of my own until they passed of old age a few years ago, so I just could not resist these adorable designs, and spent my last pennies on the white textured resin studs, and pink bubble resin studs this morning. I really like the black and teal colour-ways, too, but I thought the pastel / delicate colours would be perfect for Easter and spring which aren't far off now. Unfortunately, these two colours seem to have sold out in the UK now, but they are still available from Erstwilder in Australia. Everything else is still in stock as I write this.

If brooches and earrings weren't exciting enough, Erstwilder has also released some Beatrix Potter print scarves! There are hair and neck scarves in three pastel designs, and they look so lovely. I just can't decide if the Jemima Puddle Duck (pink), or Peter Rabbit and Friends print (blue) is my favourite.

Another new launch I'm loving is Lady Vintage's new range of short-sleeved Lyra dresses. Eight new prints have been released, and they really have chosen some beautiful ones this time. The colours are so lovely, too. I'm so in love with the fushia kingfisher print (OMG, so pretty!), but I think the bug print comes a close second. Sadly, I think the chances of my size still being in stock next time I have money to spare is zero, but it doesn't hurt to dream.

Erstwilder With Love Valentine's Day Brooches


Happy belated Valentine's Day!

I hope you had a lovely one, and were spoiled rotten by your Valentine (or yourself, if you didn't have one).

I didn't have a Valentine, either, but who cares? I decided to be my own Valentine this year! I bought myself some chocolates, and the week before, I treated myself to two brooches from Erstwilder's new Valentine's collection, 'With Love', as an early Valentine's present to myself. If you can't buy yourself jewellery for Valentine's Day without feeling guilty, when can you, eh?

I wanted to review my new brooches for you on Valentine's Day, but I spent all last week struggling with some of the worst chronic pain I've experienced in years, and just wasn't able to finish this post in time. Things haven't been much better this week, and I only managed to take the photos for this post yesterday. so I hope you'll forgive me for posting about something partially Valentine's related a week late because the brooches I have to show you are ridiculously cute.


With Love is the most adorable Valentine's jewellery collection I think I've ever seen. Based on cutesy vintage Valentine's Day cards, and designed in Melbourne by Carmen Hui, it features twelve brooches, one necklace, and two pairs of earrings, each even cuter than the last.

There were half a dozen pieces I desperately wanted (although, I could've happily bought the whole collection), but I somehow behaved myself, and limited myself to two to stop myself buying them all. I impress myself with my willpower sometimes. Gold star for me! Surely that level of restraint deserves another brooch??

Just kidding. I'll be good.

The first brooch I have to show you is my favourite piece from the collection- an adorable skunk brooch called Stinkin' Cute. I've always loved skunks (they're just so stinkin' cute), so I fell in love with this brooch the moment I saw a preview of it on Instagram, and I didn't need to see the rest of the collection to know I'd be buying one. Thankfully, I managed to snap him up before he sold out, because, unsurprisingly, he sold out from every UK stockist so fast. I'm glad I did, because he's such a gorgeous piece.

He's been made from glossy plain black and pearlescent marbled white resins, with a glitter red resin used for the big red heart he's carrying in his paws for his Valentine. You could not find a more perfect skunk brooch. I wore him on Valentine's Day and I've got him pinned to my PJs again today, and I fully intend to wear him all year round. A skunk is for life and not just for Valentine's Day.


It was hard narrowing down my other favourites to just one, but for my second choice I went with a pink kitten brooch called Feline the Love.  I didn't previously have a cat brooch in my collection, and I thought this pretty pastel pink kitty was the purrfect piece for a first time cat brooch adoptee. The design is too cute, and the colours and resins used to make her are so pretty that I found her impossible to resist. She's made from stunning white and pale pink pearlescent marbled resins, with a plain rose-pink tail and leg, dusky pink markings, and black detailing to her paws and cute little heart-shaped face. Like the skunk, she's also carrying a big red heart in her paws, but rather than being glittery, this one is made from a textured resin, so it has an amazing rippled appearance, which shines in multiple shades of red. It has such a retro, vintage look, and I think it will look particularly adorable pinned to pastel-coloured mid-century style outfits all year round.

The great thing about both brooches, and the 'With Love' collection in general, is that while they are the ideal finishing touch for any Valentine's Day outfit, they're subtle enough to be worn on any other day of the year, too. I'll definitely be wearing them in all seasons, anyway.


If these brooches weren't cute enough already, every piece has been packaged in special red polka dot heart-shaped boxes, like a little box of novelty Valentine's chocolates! How cute is that?! They're so much cuter than the regular Erstwilder packaging, and make them even lovelier to give as gifts to brooch-loving ladies (or yourself!) on any other day of the year to show you care.

Sunday Favourites Valentine's Day Special #395


With Valentine's Day coming up in a few days, today I thought I'd put together a Valentine's Day themed Sunday Favourites post in lieu of my usual Sunday Favourites. (I say 'usual', but this is the first Sunday Favourites I've managed to put together so far this year! Haha)!

Wednesday Wish List


I was aiming to post this week's Wednesday Wish List yesterday- y'know, actually on Wednesday- but my new bedroom furniture arrived before I could add any text, and then I got lost under a mountain of stuff as I started emptying old drawers to fill up new ones. By the time I'd stopped for the day, I was too tired to finish the post, so I'm just going to post it today instead before I get back to organising the bomb site that is my bedroom. Better late than never, right? When you see how cute this week's favourites are, I think you'll agree.

So, yesterday morning, Erstwilder launched their adorable Valentine's collection 'With Love', which features fifteen designs inspired by vintage Valentine's Day cards. Having a soft spot for kitsch, mid-century-style fashion, and with the jewellery being utterly adorable, I'm naturally head over heels for this collection. It is the cutest thing I've seen in ages! And they even come in red heart-shaped boxes, which just adds to their appeal.

They're perfect for Valentine's and Galentine's Day celebrations (or just for wearing all year round), and so lovely as presents for your Valentine- or for yourself. I've decided to be my own Valentine this year, so I was up before 6am yesterday morning to shop the collection. I treated myself to two of my favourites- the skunk and the pink kitten brooches, which both look so darn cute- and was definitely lucky to get my hands on them before they sold out. (As the quantities are limited, some designs always sell out almost immediately, so you have to be ready to pounce at the moment they launch to stand a chance of getting your favourites). I really want the swans, dog, donkey, and bluebirds, too, but I was good and restrained myself because I'm trying to save for a Nintendo Switch Lite. I'm hoping to pick up other designs later, but in the mean time, gold star for me!

Alongside the With Love collection, Erstwilder have also released a selection of Valentine's Essentials heart studs and drop earrings. The earrings have been made from complimenting resins so that they can be mixed and matched with the brooches and necklaces, but they make a great statement on their own, too. I have so many of their earrings already and I wear them with everything. I have similar red ripple resin drop earrings, but I'd love to add the others to my collection. I'd happily wear all of these all year round.
