OPI House of OPI'cing Good Enough to Treat Mini Advent Calendar Christmas 2025

I can't believe it's time to talk Advent calendars again! Where has this year gone?!

This year, I'll be counting down the twelve days of Christmas with the OPI House of OPI'cing Good Enough to Treat Mini Advent Calendar, and I'm here to give you the low-down on it, with plenty of spoilers.

So, this year's Advent calendar from OPI is part of their Good Enough to Treat Christmas Collection for 2025, and has been designed to look like a gingerbread house.

It features twelve mini OPI nail polishes, with a good mix of new limited edition holiday shades, classic favourites, and nail treatments, covering a good selection of nail shades from festive reds and sparkling silvers, to natural nudes and decadent purples.

The 3.75ml mini nail polishes and treatments included in the calendar are:

♥ OPI'm Frosted- an icy silver shimmer.

♥ Spread the Cherry- a festive red shimmer.

♥ Ginger Snapped- a brown copper shimmer.

♥ Nougat by Nature- a dark gold shimmer.

♥ Berry and Bright- a juicy berry red shimmer.

♥ Yuletide Sweetings!- a dark green-blue shimmer.

♥ Bubble Bath- a neutral alabaster nude.

♥ Funny Bunny- a soft white creme.

♥ Big Apple Red- a bright, shiny red.

♥ Lincoln Park After Dark- a bold, near-black purple.

♥ Top Coat- a high-performance clear top coat that prevents chipping and has a high-gloss shine.

♥ Natural Nail Base Coat- a clear base coat that prevents staining of nails and promotes a long-lasting finish.

The calendar has the perfect shade for every mood and occasion, as well as a top coat and base coat to keep your nails healthy, and your manicures looking their best long after Christmas. Whether you want a bold pop of colour, something shimmery for the festive season, or a subtle French manicure, this calendar has you covered.

That said, I don't think it has the most inspired or varied selection of shades they could've given us, especially compared to other years' calendars. Almost half of the shades are reds, purples, or browns, and four clear, white, and nude polishes in a calendar with only twelve shades is really boring. I'm also not particularly thrilled to see Lincoln Park After Dark and Bubble Bath included yet again. I don't care  that they're pretty and both best-sellers; after having them included in several of the last five or six calendars, I would've preferred to see something different for a change. However, I do love the look of most of the nail polishes in this calendar, and can't wait to try all the new colours- especially Spread the Cherry, and Berry and Bright.

The calendar itself is super cute. It's about the size of a chunky paperback, so it's the ideal calendar if you're short on space for decorations. It's made of sturdy, recyclable cardboard, and has been given the design of a brown, silver, and red gingerbread house with gumdrop and candy cane detailing.

It opens on a hinge to reveal twelve rounded doors, coloured in the shades of the nail polishes, and each decorated with a festive wreath. The doors have been arranged in numerical order, making it easy to find the right one each day- although, in my opinion, not having to search hard for the correct door does take away a little of the fun!

You'll find the name of each nail polish on the reverse of the doors, and I'd recommend making a note of your favourites, in case you wish to order any full-size bottles later, as the names still aren't printed on the bottles of these mini polishes. I wish OPI would start labelling them already because they're not always so easy to identify months later, especially when they stock so many similar shades.

The OPI House of OPI'cing Mini Advent calendar retails around £52, but can be found much cheaper in the sales. I snagged mine for a much more agreeable £34 from Just My Look last month!  Considering full-sized OPI nail polishes start at £18, I thought this was really good value for a set of twelve minis.

Overall, I think it's a great, reasonably-priced Advent calendar to count down to Christmas with, and while the shades could be a little more varied, it still features plenty of gorgeous nail polishes that will give you the prettiest manicures this Christmas, and beyond.

So, this year's OPI Advent calendar is a collaboration with Wicked the movie, and features twelve bewitchingly beautiful mini OPI nail polishes in shades inspired by the characters, which are perfect for the holiday season and beyond.

There are Glinda pinks and Elphaba greens, yellow-brick-road yellows and ruby-slipper reds- and a whole ensemble of other magical nail colours in between. 

I love the mix of nail shades included in this set, and that there is a colour for every mood, and occasion. Whether you're looking to get into the holiday spirit, feeling feminine like Glinda, or going for dark and edgy like Elphaba, there's a shade for it. It's been so well curated.

It was the greens, Ozitively Elphaba and Witch o' Clock, that sold me on this calendar- both shades look dreamy- but the black and purple shimmers, Deflying Gravity and Let's Rejoicify, and classic rosy red, Nessa-ist, look like they're going to be favourites, too. I haven't worn or even swatched any of them yet, as I'm saving that treat for when I open them, so we'll see if my favourites change later.

All of the nail polishes included in the calendar are 3.5ml minis, but they're still a reasonable size, and you'll get at least a few manicures out of each bottle. I can't deny, it would've been nice to see a full-size nail polish included for the final day, though.

The calendar itself is smaller than a paperback book, which is so cute, and perfect if you're short on space. It's made of sturdy, recyclable cardboard, and features a Wicked-inspired design in green and gold, with Glinda and Elphaba from the movie on the front.

Pull back the giant green nail polish, and it opens on a hinge to reveal the twelve numbered windows, in numerical order, and split into two sides. The left is green and purple for Elphaba, and the right is pink, purple, and yellow for Glinda. It's such a pretty design- especially the green side.

The windows are also clearly numbered with a modern white font, so it'll be easy to locate the correct one each day. And you'll find the name of each nail polish shade on the reverse of each window. You'll want to make a note of each one in case you wish to order a full-size bottle of your favourite shades, as, annoyingly, once again, they aren't printed on the bottles. I wish OPI would just print the names on the mini bottles already- it would make identifying them so much easier.

The OPI Advent Calendar retails for £52, which is expensive for twelve mini nail polishes, but it's fair when you consider the full-sized bottles retail for around £16 each. It's also currently included in a lot of Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals, so you should be able to grab it for much less. 

Overall, it's a fantastic, reasonably-priced nail polish Advent Calendar to count down to Christmas with, with a gorgeous variety of high-quality nail shades that will keep your nails looking their best long after the festive season is over. I'd highly recommend it.

Essie Bejeweled Wonderland Nail Polish Advent Calendar 2023 Review With Spoilers

One of my Christmas traditions is counting down the days 'til Christmas with a beauty Advent calendar, and this year, I've gone with the Bejeweled Wonderland Advent calendar from nail polish favourite, Essie.

I mean, the calendar looked so good, I just couldn't resist the excuse to restock my nail polish collection.

But was the calendar worth the spend? 

Let go through it and see.

So... Essie's Bejeweled Wonderland calendar is a twenty-four day Advent calendar filled with twenty-four full and mini sized Essie nail polishes and treatments to keep your nails looking their best over the festive season and beyond.

Inside you'll find nine full-size and fourteen mini nail polishes and treatments in a variety of classic and wearable colours, and one mini nail polish remover to help prep your nails for the next manicure. 

There are a great selection of nail polish shades included in this year's calendar, from classic orange-red and delicate nude-pink to calming lush greens and gothic jet-black. They've given us a much better variety of shades than in previous years, where they've mostly played it safe with reds, pinks, and nudes, so it's great to see Essie venturing out from their comfort zone and offering a wider colour choice. The nail polish shades are still very tame compared to others on the market, but as a brand, Essie is all about classic, tasteful nail colours and less about the trends. If you want something ground-breaking, this probably isn't the Advent calendar for you, so look elsewhere. However, if you're in to more time-honoured and softer colours, it does have a gorgeous selection of shades to discover, and they're all so wearable. I haven't swatched any of them yet as I'm saving that treat for December, but I particularly love the look of Fifth Avenue (the orange-red), Off Tropic (the forest green), Suits You Swell (blushing violet), Gossip 'n' Spill (muted rose), S'il Vous Play (metallic pink-purple), and Ripple Reflect (cornflower blue). The shades are all so pretty.

I'm also impressed to see nine full-size bottles of nail polish and not just mini-sizes hidden inside. Most nail polish Advent calendars only contain minis, with one full-size bottle for Christmas Eve, if you're lucky, so it's a treat to get so many full sized polishes. And, as each bottle would retail for £8.99 and up, it's such good value for money, too, and an economical way to try out lots of new products.

As for the packaging, the calendar itself is a massive 38cm x 38cm x 5.5cm square box with twenty-four windows cut into the cardboard. There are no fancy boxes to open and the design isn't elaborate like some out there, but it's clear and uncomplicated, and it's easy to spot the numbers on the doors. 

This year, the design takes the form of a bejewelled castle with Essie nail polish bottles for turrets, which dominates a pine and snow-draped mountainscape dotted with colourful little houses, gems and jewels, and rogue bottles of nail polish. It's an attractive design, and pretty enough to keep out among your Christmas decorations.

The Essie Bejeweled Wonderland Advent calendar retails around the £60 mark, but I managed to get mine from Perfume's Club for about £48. It's currently out of stock from them, but it's still available from Boozy Shop, and Luxplus online.

Overall, I think it's a fantastic mid-range nail polish Advent calendar to count down to Christmas with. It's got a lovely variety of nail polishes and treatments, lots of full-sized products, high-quality contents, and it's so reasonably priced. I'm really pleased with it, and I'm glad I chose it as this year's calendar. I'd definitely recommend for any one who loves nail polish, so snap one up while you can!

I rarely get to splurge on beauty products for myself these days, so I always look forward to treating myself to a beauty Advent calendar each Christmas. This year, for the second year running, I chose the OPI Celebration Collection Advent calendar, a gorgeous little calendar bursting with mini nail polishes.

I'd intended to try something different this Christmas, but I knew I wanted another nail polish calendar, and wasn't impressed by the nail shades in the Essie, Ciate, or Barry M calendars at all. Too many boring nudes I'd never wear. OPI has the best selection of colours for my taste out of the limited selection of nail polish Advent calendars available this year, so here I am with an OPI Advent calendar beside me, ready to review for you guys for the second year in a row.

I'm so excited to tell you about it, and give you a full look at the contents.

So, the OPI Celebration Collection Advent Calendar is this year's offering from high-end nail polish favourite OPI. As usual, it's brimming with mini OPI nail treats in a range of bold and sophisticated colours to discover as you count down to Christmas, including twenty-two mini nail polishes, and three mini nail treatments. Inside, you'll discover festive reds and pretty pinks, bold blues and icy whites, and more in between, with ten brand new colours from this year's Celebration Collection Christmas range, and lots of old favourites, too.

There are so many beautiful nail colours included in this calendar that I can't wait to try, from the vibrant holographic teal, Ready, Fete, Go! to the holographic violet, My Color Wheel is Spinning, the bold cobalt blue creme, Ring in the Blue Year, and of course, all the reds, because I will never not love a red nail polish. The calendar doesn't quite cover a whole spectrum of colours, with OPI once again choosing to fill their Advent calendar with reds, pinks, and dark purple polishes, but they have toned it down a little this Christmas, and added in a few blues and greens, which gives a little more variety. Don't get me wrong; I love red, pink, and purple nails, but there's such a thing as overkill, and I'm pleased to see more colour options in this year's calendar. 

My only real bug-bear with the selection- and it's only a little one- is that there are several nail shades that were also in last year's Advent calendar, such as Alpine Snow, Lincoln Park After Dark, and Strawberry Margherita, which is a little disappointing as a returning customer. I would personally have preferred to see a whole new selection so I could dip my toe (nails) in lots of new shades. However, the colours are gorgeous, and I can understand why they were included, as some of OPI's best-sellers of all time. I'm sure plenty of OPI fans will be pleased to find these classics in the calendar.

If you're expecting the calendar to be filled with full-size OPI nail polishes; you're going to be disappointed. All twenty-five bottles are miniature-sized, and they really are mini at just 3.5ml each. However, you still get several manicures out of each bottle, and it's a great way to try lots of OPI nail shades before committing to full-sized bottles, which we all know can be pretty pricy. They're also an ideal size to pop in your bag or suitcase to use on the go, and less likely to dry up or separate before you reach the bottom, which usually happens before I finish a full-sized bottle of nail polish.

As for the packaging, the Celebration Collection calendar is made from thin, but reasonably-sturdy recyclable card, and this year features a simple red and white design which reminds me of creased metallic foil. It opens like a book to reveal twenty-five unique nail-polish shaped cardboard windows, each numbered in order to make finding the right one a piece of cake each day- no matter how many drinks you put away at the Christmas party the night before! The design is festive and tasteful, understated but attractive, and the box won't take up too much space as it's not too big and can be folded shut.

Overall, my first impressions of the OPI Celebration Collection Advent calendar are almost entirely positive. I love most of the contents, the variety of nail colours has improved, it's not been bulked out with cheap tat like some Advent calendars, the packaging is attractive, and the price is reasonable. While I haven't tried any of the nail polishes yet, as I'm saving that pleasure for Advent, I've always been pleased with the quality of OPI nail polishes in the past, and have no reason to think this set will be any different. If I didn't trust the quality, I wouldn't be splurging on one of their calendars for the third time in five years!

I can't believe it's already time to start talking Advent calendars! Seriously, where has this year gone? It only feels like two minutes since I was reviewing last year's beauty calendars!

If you've been following my blog for a while, you'll know that I like to treat myself to a beauty Advent calendar every Christmas. I don't often splurge on beauty products throughout the year, so this is one beauty treat I like to give myself. This year, I decided I wanted to go with a nail polish calendar again, and after narrowing down my favourites, I chose OPI's Shine Bright Advent calendar.

Before we go any further, please note that this review contains spoilers including photos of the contents, so if you don't want to ruin the surprise for yourself, you may want to stop reading here. If you are here for the spoilers, however, keep reading, and I'll try not to disappoint you!

So, the Shine Bright Advent calendar is this year's offering from nail polish favourite OPI in collaboration with Swarovski. It features twenty-five mini OPI nail polishes in a range of bold and sophisticated colours for the holiday season, including twelve brand new shades from the Shine Bright collection, and thirteen of OPI's iconic classic colours. An almost perfect balance of new and old nail shades.

There are festive reds, playful pinks, dazzling golds, mesmerising midnights, decadent purples, and so much more, providing you with something for every mood, outfit, and occasion. It's a beautifully curated collection, and it's sure to keep your nails looking fabulous throughout the festive season- and beyond.

The Shine Bright calendar is filled with beautiful nail colours, although, it does contain a lot of reds, and pinks, instead of covering a whole spectrum of colours, which is common with OPI's Advent calendars. You might view this as good or bad depending on the shades you like to wear on your nails. I personally love wearing a whole rainbow of colours, yet I'm thrilled with the shades in this calendar. The colours are stunning, and there's a great mix of glosses, shimmers, glitters, and pearlescent finishes. There are so many shades inside that I can't wait to try out, especially the reds like Red-y For the Holidays and Dressed to the Wines, and the glittery blacks and blues like Heart and Coal and To All a Good Night. However, I also would've preferred to have seen a little more variety in the calendar; seven pink shades is a little excessive for one set- even if they are all different, and there are too many nudes for my taste, which are unlikely to ever get used because I prefer a bit of colour. I decided to overlook this, though, as I love the look of the majority of the nail polishes in the calendar, and I've been impressed with OPI's calendars in the past. 

All of the nail polishes in this calendar are miniature-sized OPI nail polishes, so if you were hoping for full-sized bottles, you may be disappointed. Yes, at 3.5ml they're small in size, but mini cosmetics are adorable, and you still get plenty of manicures from each bottle- I'd say at least half a dozen two-coaters. The calendar is a great way to try out lots of OPI nail shades before committing to their full-sized bottles, which, let's face it, can be quite expensive. These mini nail polishes are also the perfect size for putting in your bag or suitcase to use on the go (not that many of us are going places right now; thanks, Covid), and they're less likely to dry up or separate before you reach the bottom, which often happens to me with full sized bottles of nail polish.

My only real problem with these mini OPI nail polishes is that they don't tell you the names of the nail shades on the bottles, which can make identifying the correct shades tricky if you want to reorder a favourite colour at a later date. Sure, it tells you the names on the back of the calendar, and on the inside of each window, but who holds on to the packaging until every bottle is used up? It's a minor issue, but I wish OPI would just label each bottle to make life easier.

As for the packaging, the calendar is made from thin but reasonably-sturdy recyclable card from responsible sources, and features a modern red and pink design with disco balls and streamers. The front of the calendar is split in two, and opens up to reveal twenty-five geometric cardboard windows in deep red, pink, yellow, and purple on a background of metallic pink streamers, split in to three sections. Each window is clearly numbered in a large white font and organised in numerical order to make locating the correct window a breeze, and when you open them, you'll find the name of the polish printed on the inside behind it. I really like the design this year. It's attractive, it's festive, it's colourful, and it'll look great on display with the rest of the Christmas decorations. What's not to love?

Overall, my first impressions of the calendar are almost entirely positive. I love the majority of the nail shades, there isn't any cheap tat added to cheaply bulk out the calendar like some other nail brands have done (I'm looking at you, Essie), the packaging is attractive, and the price is reasonable. While I haven't tried any of the nail polishes inside yet, I've always been impressed with the high quality of OPI nail polishes in the past, and I'm really pleased that I chose the Shine Bright calendar for Christmas 2020. I can't wait to start trying everything over the holidays.

This year, I will be counting down the days 'til Christmas with not one but two nail polish Advent calendars. Earlier in the week, I reviewed the Essie Advent calendar for you guys, and today I'm back to give you the low-down on this year's Ciaté Mini Mani Month calendar.

Ciaté London's Mini Mani Month nail polish Advent calendar is the original beauty calendar, which appeared on the scene years before all the other beauty brands caught on and began to release their own. This calendar has been returning year after year for about a decade now, getting a redesign and a new set of contents each year, and it's so popular it sells out every Christmas. I think this is the third or fourth Christmas I've purchased one of their Advent calendars- they're that good I keep on going back for more!

This year's Mini Mani Month Advent calendar features a metallic silver design with a modern illustration of London at Christmas time in silver, grey, and white emblazoning the front. The design includes iconic landmarks like The Shard, Tower Bridge, Big Ben, and The London Eye, along with non-descript buildings and houses, a scattering of simple modern Christmas trees, and 'Mini Mani Month' printed in a large script in the centre.

The calendar opens on a hinge like a book to reveal twenty-four large cardboard windows, with the numbers in a large font size which will make it easy to locate the right door each day.

Hidden behind its twenty-four silver windows, are twenty-four nail treats for you to discover each day in the lead up to Christmas, including twenty-two mini paint pots, one full-sized paint pot, and one limited edition glitter nail file. The set includes ten brand new shades for 2019, and six mystery polishes, which Ciaté say may vary from calendar to calendar, so you'll never quite know what shades you're gonna get!

And the six mystery shades included in my calendar are:

♥ Midnight in Paris mini paint pot 5ml- a gorgeous midnight blue with a silver shimmer.

♥ Cyclone mini paint pot 5ml- a turquoise to bronze shimmering duo-chrome.

♥ Up In The Clouds mini paint pot 5ml- a dreamy opalescent pale pink.

♥ After Dark mini paint pot 5ml- colour-shifting purple to blue iridescent.

♥ Violet Vixen mini paint pot 5ml- a rose-gold glitter with a red, purple, and yellow gold shimmer.

I couldn't resist taking a peek at all of the products hidden inside when the calendar first arrived, and let me tell you, there are some seriously beautiful nail shades in this set! Everything is so gorgeous. There are bold reds, mesmerising navys, pretty pinks, glamorous golds, beautiful iridescents, and so many other gorgeous shades, mostly from the Gelology creme nail paint collection. There are less nudes and more colourful shades than in some of their previous calendars, so of course, that's makes this calendar a winner in my book! I'm so impressed with the selection of nail shades included in this Advent calendar; I think it has one of the best selection of colours yet. I can't wait to try them all out this December. 

The great thing is, there are no annoying loose glitters or caviars like there used to be in past Mini Mani Month calendars, and unlike the Essie Advent calendar, it isn't bulked out with cheap accessories. Okay, there is one sturdy, glittery gold emery board included, but I can live with that. A girl can never have too many nail files around in case of nail emergencies, right? 

I've not yet tested or swatched any of the paint pots as I want to save that pleasure for Advent, but I've been a big fan of Ciaté nail paints for years, and I can tell you the formula handles like a dream, dries quickly, and is long lasting. I usually find Ciaté polishes remain chip-free for at least four or five days, which is far longer than most other nail brands I've tried. (And believe me, I've tried a lot). They're well worth the investment.

You may also be happy to know that the brand is vegan friendly, not tested on animals, and free of parabens, so they're kinder to your nails, health, animals, and the environment than many nail brands. You can purchase with a clear conscience knowing no animals were harmed to make this Advent calendar, and that Ciaté are committed to a sustainable future. How great is that?

This year's Mini Mani Month calendar contains £150 worth of products, but retails for just £50, so it's fantastic value for money, and one of the most reasonably priced beauty Advent calendars around this Christmas. It's still available to purchase from Ciaté, Beauty Expert, Debenhams, Look Fantastic, Mankind, and Nail Polish Direct, but you'll have to be quick because it won't be around for much longer!

Overall, I think this year's Mini Mani Month is a fantastic Advent calendar. The design is attractive, the contents are amazing, and the price is very reasonable for twenty four good quality nail products. I can't wait for Advent to arrive, so I can start opening the windows, and try all of the gorgeous goodies inside. My nails are going to look so good this December!
