Another Christmas, another Erstwilder Christmas brooch haul.
I've lost count of how many Christmases I've been blogging about my picks from their Christmas collections, but I look forward to writing about them every year- almost as much as I look forward to the collections themselves. And this year is definitely one of the best yet.
For Christmas 2025, they've collaborated with Hannah Buzgau for Merry Menagerie; a big animal-centric collection with wonderfully-nostalgic Christmas vibes that'll make you homesick for Christmases past.
With so many lovely pieces to choose from, narrowing down my favourites was particularly hard this year, but I love my choices, and like to think I picked some good ones.
Shall we check them out?
Of all the Santa brooches I've seen, I think Santa's Surprise is my all-time favourite. He looks like the perfect classic Santa, with his bright red suit, broad face with a bushy white beard, and his little round-belly, which I'm sure shakes when he laughs, like a bowl full of jelly! (Actually, I hope it doesn't. If the brooch starts laughing, I'll be outta here faster than you can say 'ho ho ho'). Thankfully, I think he's just a harmless old dude in a pretty ripple resin suit, with the glitteriest trim a Santa suit ever had... but I'll be keeping an eye on him, just in case.
Next, let me introduce you to Milly the Mouse. Look how cute this festive little rodent is, with her little Santa hat, and bough of holly. The grey, red, and green ripple and marbled resins are gorgeous, and I love the sparkly white trim and bobble on her hat. I don't think it's hard to see why she's my favourite piece in the collection. She'll be the perfect brooch for the night before Christmas... if I can get her to stir, that is.
From stirring rodents to sledding lagamorphs, next we have Breezy the Bunny, a sweet brown and white ripple-resin rabbit making the most of a winter snow day on her little red sled. She reminded me a little of my old ginger and white bunny, Honey, so, of course, I had to adopt her in Honey's memory. It's such a cute brooch, and there's something about her that also makes me think of the pictures in classic children's books. I'm not exactly sure which ones... Richard Scary? Old Enid Blyton bedtime stories? Who knows? Unfortunately, Breezy appears to be sold out everywhere online, so you'll need to try resale groups and sites if you want to find one.
The gift-with-purchase brooch for this collection was a festive little doe called Darcy the Deer. This darling little deer is getting into the Christmas spirit early, with a pretty crimson bow tied around her neck to compliment her shiny golden-brown, ripple-resin coat, and a little teal bauble carried proudly between her teeth, so you know she means business. She's been designed with the same love, care, and attention as the rest of the range, and even though she's a freebie, she's just as lovely and well-made as all the others. Thank you, Erstwilder.
I also received some extras from the stockist I used, Oh My Marie, because orders were delayed by a couple of weeks thanks to a shipping issue. My parcel included some cinnamon-flavoured hot chocolate, a mitten Christmas tree decoration, and, best of all, a little turquoise retro bauble brooch, and red Christmas stocking studs from the Lipstick & Chrome Itty Bitties collection! How cute are these?! I can't wait to wear them!
And that's my little Erstwilder Christmas haul for 2025.
