A couple of days ago I was lucky enough to win a giveaway that Becky of 'Does My Blog Make Me Look Fat?' and Betty of 'Big Fat Betty' were jointly running. Naturally, I was delighted (and a fair bit excited!) to find out I'd won a £40 New Look voucher! It's been a while since I last had £40 to spend on clothes without feeling guilty, so I feel like all my Christmases have come at once! Thanks so much, ladies!
So, I pretty much immediately logged on to New Look's website to chose how to spend it... but that wasn't easy. I found so many lovely pieces I loved, and filled my saved list with over a hundred pieces to choose from. It took me a good day and a half to narrow the choices down and make that final decision, because I wanted it all! I eventually purchased two dresses, and some nail transfers yesterday evening.
It'll no doubt be a few days before the parcel ends up in my hands, but I thought I'd share just some of my favourite pieces from New Look at the moment because I like to share pretty finds.
1. Koko Shrug // 2. Lovedrobe Dress // 3. Aztec Head Band // 4. Denim Dress // 5. Lovedrobe Dress //
14. Chiffon Maxi Skirt // 15. Ruffle Neck Dress // 16. Floral Ruffle Dress // 17. Samya Harem Trousers // 18. Chiffon Maxi Skirt // 19. AX Paris Maxi Dress // 20. Lovedrobe Dress // 21. Maxi Dress //
As you can see, there are a lot of floaty dresses in various styles and colours, bold maxi skirts, patterned harem trousers, and printed accessories on their website at the moment. Most of the above were short listed, and it was very difficult to choose between them, but choose between them I did. Before I tell you what I bought, I just need to point out how amazing the denim backpack is with the crochet patches (6), and say how much I love the polka dot dresses (5 and 20). I would've bought one of them if the fabric wasn't that thin satiny polyester which I detest, and the same goes for the elephant print dress (24). I still hope to purchase the blue Koko shrug; the backpack; the espadrilles; the maxi skirts; the harem trousers; and several of the dresses.
But what did I eventually buy?
My wardrobe is lacking in casual clothes, so when I saw this denim dress I knew I needed to snap it up. It looks like it will be a great dress to wear all year round, and for throwing on to shop, run errands, and go for casual drinks in country pubs. I love the sweetheart neckline; the crochet panel; and the wash of the denim. I just hope the size I ordered fits, and that it lives up to my expectations.
I selected this dress because cobalt blue is one of my favourite colours to wear, and I like the crochet detail along the neckline and hem. I think it will be a great little number for dressing up and for dressing down, and it could be worn in so many different ways. The dress also comes in navy, coral, and nude, but the cobalt blue is definitely my favourite and will go well with my red hair.
As I was two pence short of free delivery, I added these nail transfers to my basket to take advantage of the free delivery option. I think the designs are really quirky, and should add a little fun and humour to my manicures. I've never used nail art tattoos before, but I'm looking forward to trying them.
Provided I'm pleased with the fit and design of the dresses, I shall do a post on them properly when I've received them.
Have you bought anything from New Look lately? What's your favourite piece from this post?

DeleteCongrats on winning--that would be so fun to have all that money to spend only on clothes!! I know it's hard to narrow stuff down when you have a wishlist and I love everything on yours. And I like the items you ended up buying too! I'll have to check out New Look now!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Rebekah! It was a lovely surprise and so nice to spend it without feeling guilty. New Look have some lovely things right now, and the two I ordered are both gorgeous in real life.
