Tuesday afternoon didn't just bring my new Dorothy Perkins dress, but two amazing accessories I'd ordered from ASOS.
To me, receiving a parcel gives me that excited Christmas feeling- even when I've purchased the items myself. There's something satisfying about buying something you love with your own money, isn't there?
The two pieces were presented in lovely little black boxes.
This is the Maggie Angus bear necklace which I ordered through ASOS. Is it possible to be in love with a piece of jewellery? I think so, because I have a total jewellery crush on it! It's absolutely stunning, and I'm so glad I stumbled upon it.
It came neatly presented in a sturdy little black gift box, which I thought was a nice touch. The bear is hand made from thick acrylic, and has a smooth and sleek silhouette, with stars cut in to it, and a black matte finish with a little sheen. I chose black, but it comes in other colours- I think silver, and gold. It sits on a long dark chain which sits low on the chest on me, which is perfect as I hate the choker feeling of short necklaces, and it has a t-bar fastening.
I bought the necklace on sale for just £10.50, and it originally retailed at £24.99. The full price is a little steep, but this piece is so beautiful, and so different I feel I probably would have invested in it anyway.
The frog prince ring also came in to my life yesterday afternoon. He was wrapped in plastic in a little black gift box, and when I liberated him from all the layers of plastic, I'm not ashamed to say I fell in love with him, too. Who doesn't need a purple enamel frog prince in their lives?!
The ring is adjustable, but the adjustable part of the ring was sealed together, so I had to scrape it open with a sewing needle. I was not going to give up and send him back! Luckily, it didn't take more than five minutes to correct the problem and I didn't do too much damage. The ring adjusts to fit all my fingers with capacity to fit much larger or smaller ring sizes- I think it would fit almost any adult fingers. I don't have huge fingers, but they're far from tiny, either.
This ring is the most amazing ring I've ever seen or owned. It's shaped just like a real frog, and is purple, white, and black with a little crown on it's head and rhinestones on his back. I can't believe I adopted him for just £4.50! He was originally £12.00. I honestly couldn't fault this ring or recommend it to you more. I'm in ring heaven.
Recently, ASOS and Dorothy Perkins have been providing free samples of TRESemme Split Remedy with each order, consisting of a shampoo, conditioner, and a leave in treatment. I've yet to try them, but I'm building up a nice supply.
And finally... this is my reading supply for the week. Grazia and Look are my favourite weekly magazines, and Company is my favourite monthly.
I've also just started reading The Age of Miracles by Karen Thompson Walker on the Kindle. I've only read a few pages so far, but it has a Hunger Games feel to it. As I can gather, it's a story about the rotation of the earth slowing, so that the length of the days become longer and longer, and the impact it has on the world and the life of an eleven year old girl and her family.
The story of that book sounds super interesting, I'll look it up online some time. I just started reading Atlas Shrugged though so it might take a while^^
ReplyDeleteThe necklace is bigger than I though it'd be, but I like it! And the frog prince is too cute of course. Great picks sweetie :)
Yeah I think so too. I read a review of it in a magazine which made me want to read it. I'll let you know how it goes. I know how you feel; it felt like I'd never finish IT!
DeleteThank you! They were both better than my expectations. :)
love last post too, the dress and shrug look very romantic - the jewellery is sweet yet edgy and of course all you readers put me to shame - my recent book is 50 shades darker hehe i haven't even finished the first chapter (of course i have been told i have started in the wrong order which is why i haven't got a clue whats going on)don't judge me!!! ps i regard vogue as a heavy read sometimes hehe x
ReplyDeleteThanks Maria! I've missed buying new jewellery. Everyone is reading 50 Shades and I'm not sure I will because I'm not a fan of hypes, but everyone seems to rave about it. Haha! I'm not judging; I think it's great when people enjoy reading! :) Well, Vogue has to be studied properly haha.
DeleteThat frog ring is absolutely adorable! I have a thing for frogs...
ReplyDeleteYou should pick one up! Would be rude not to at the bargain price of £4.50!
