Wednesday Wish List

Evening guys,

It's that time of the week again when I share my wish lists with you. These are pieces I've fallen in love with on screen and can't get out of my head. The things I would love to own, use, and wear.

Sometimes I may be lucky enough to purchase some of them, sometimes they become nothing more than a wish list because I'm not actually a millionaire. Sometimes pieces are forgotten about or out-shined by something else, or other times, like now, I simply can't afford to treat myself. With Christmas just two months away (how did that happen?), my personal purchases will be limited until the New Year while I concentrate on buying Christmas and birthday presents for my family and friends. I'm dying to own everything on this week's list, so hopefully I can fit in a couple of personal treats here and there.

Clothes and Accessories

This has to be the tenth time I've included this bright cardi in my weekly wish lists, but I don't care as I'm besotted with it. It may be a simple boyfriend cardi, but I adore the colour and the mother of pearl buttons, and it would work with so much of my wardrobe.

I bought a thin snood from Topshop last week, but I also want to buy a thick knitted number to wrap up warm in when it's bitterly cold. I've had this gorgeous teal ASOS one on my wish list for a while now, and I think for £12 it's very good value. Especially considering the price of many others on the high street. I'm very likely to snap one of these up because it's so beautiful.

I'm still hoping to get this fairisle cardigan for snuggling up in this A/W. It looks so warm, and the colour makes it so bright and cheerful. It's the perfect Winter knit.

I've fallen in love with this peacock feather print hi-low hem dress after seeing it on somebody else's wish list a week or so ago. It's beautiful. Although sadly it's too expensive for me right now.

Dorothy Perkins is currently holding an up to 30% off promotion, and this cute raccoon print tee may have to become my pay day treat. It's so inexpensive, and after missing out on the ASOS raccoon shirt I desperately wanted, I'm not sure if I can allow myself to miss out on this one, too.

With the current promotion, I'm very tempted to treat myself to this adorable jumper at such a good price. I don't have much knitwear, and it is getting cold...

It's so pretty, but with Christmas coming I can't justify buying another dress. There are things I actually need, and let's face it: another dress just isn't one of them. I have so many I could open my own boutique. I adore it, though, and hope somehow I'll be able to own it.

Yep, it's still on my wish list. I have to have it somehow, but I'm hoping the price will come down a little first. I bought the mustard version last week, and it's a really cosy midi that would be perfect for those Winter days when there's snow on the ground, or the temperature is several degrees below freezing. Even I can't cope in a normal dress on those days.

I've become really taken with these gorgeous Autumn maxis. I've never really worn maxi skirts in A/W before but these are beautiful. I think they'd work really well with my studded jumpers tucked in to them. I can't decide which colour to go for, but I think I'm leaning more towards the teal.

I couldn't tell you why I have such a soft spot for fairisle. They were always thought of as those ugly jumpers your Nana would knit you for Christmas when I was growing up. Now, though, fairisle knits are everywhere, and I'm forever finding myself drawn to the cute designs. This one would look good with skinny jeans, and  a pair of studded ankle/biker boots or studded slippers.

Nail Art and Other Things

I've been trying my hand at nail art a lot recently, and would love to branch out a bit more and try some new designs. I get inspiration from online tutorials and regularly find myself pinning designs on to Pinterest, but I would love to own a book or two to work my way through. I also want to extend my little nail pen collection with some more colours.

Aside from nail art, I'm interested in learning how to make my own jewellery, not only to have awesome unique accessories to wear, but to add some variety to my days and learn something new. I currently feel like I'm living a ground hog day life (as I am), which is causing me to go a little stir crazy, so I think leaning some new crafts could be my salvation.

The Nail Art Sourcebook retails at £14.99, but it's almost a third cheaper through Amazon. It claims to have "500 designs for fingertip fashions", although from the reviews I've read the book is more for inspiration than step by step tutorials. I'm confident I could work out how to recreate most designs without tutorials, so I've not been put off by this and am pretty certain I shall be investing in the book soon.

If you own this book already, can you tell me if it's worth buying or not?

The WAH Nails Book or Nail Art seems like the perfect nail art tutorial book... I just wish there were more than 25 designs to try in it. Still, for £6.99 (rrp £9.99), 25 designs isn't bad and it'd be enough to keep me inspired and occupied for a few months, and I would like to own it at some point.

As I mentioned earlier, I want to learn how to make myself some jewellery. I wear mostly quirky accessories with unusual pendants/charms/designs and can never resist anything animal orientated. The Tatty Devine book appears to be perfect for my style, and hopefully easy enough for a beginner to try.

I already have the WAH nail art pens in white and blue. I find these nail art pens so easy to use, so I want to add a couple of new colours to my collection so I can create leopard prints and lots of other designs.

Inglot has to be my favourite make up brand, and I'm dying to give their nail art pens a try as I love their nail polishes. They stock a great range of colours at reasonable prices... I love the look of the gold, and dark reds. It's just a shame their delivery costs are quite expensive.

What's on your wish list right now?

  3. I already have the ASOS raccoon shirt, and yet am still really drawn to the DP tee. I love it, but think it's too similar to have something else with raccoons in my wardrobe.

    1. I'm so jealous; that shirt is fabulous. I don't think it's possible to have too many raccoon pieces!
