This or that?

I was having a clear up of some of my files and found a challenge I'd copied and pasted a few months back. I can't remember where I found it, but I wanted to have a go anyway as I like testing myself.  It's a 'this or that' challenge, one where you choose which you prefer out of two things.

Here goes...

Make Up:

Blusher or bronzer?

Blusher. I'm far too pale too pull off bronzer without looking like a four year old did my make up.

Lipgloss or lipstick?

I like both, but I'll say glossy-look lipsticks; they still have the sheen I like, but with better coverage, and my hair doesn't end up stuck to them too much.

Eyeliner or mascara?

Mascara! I feel naked if I haven't got a coat of mascara on my lashes. It's such an easy and effective way of opening up and enhancing the eyes, and I feel more presentable when I leave the house with some applied. When I don't wear it, I get told I look 'tired' or 'ill'.

Foundation or concealer?

Erm I'd say... concealer. Of the under eye persuasion. I don't always wear foundation as I like my skin to breathe sometimes, but I almost always wear an under eye concealer when leaving the house. I don't often get spots so don't often need to use concealer elsewhere.

Neutral or coloured eyeshadows?

Coloured eyeshadows all the way! I love expressing myself with bright eyeshadows and making my eyes the statement.

Pressed or loose eyeshadow?

Pressed. Loose powders are too messy and end up everywhere.

Brushes or sponges?

I prefer brushes. I personally think they give a more natural finish.

Nails:

Opi or China Glaze?

I've not used either yet, but I'm regularly found admiring Opi polishes online.

Long or short?

Somewhere in the middle!

Acrylic or natural?

Natural. Acrylic nails and I have never seen eye to eye.

Bright or darks?

Brights. What can I say? I love colour.

Flower or no flower?

Not exactly sure what this means...

Body:

Perfume or body spray?

Perfume every time. There's something so elegant and glamorous about spritzing on a perfume which I just don't get with body sprays. They also last longer and are usually more discreet.

Lotion or body butter?

I love both. I generally just use body butters for my legs and feet, but will use body lotions all over.

Body wash or soap?

Has to be body wash. I find most soaps to be too drying; although I love to use Lush soaps for washing my hands and shaving my legs.

Lush or other bath company?

I'm a big fan of Lush. I also love The Body Shop, and L'Occitane.

Fashion:

Jeans or sweatpants?

Jeans, because I'm not a fan of really dressing down. If I want something comfy, I wear leggings.

Long sleeve or short?

Somewhere in the middle! I prefer my sleeves to be 3/4 length, or about half way between the elbow and shoulder as I'm not comfortable with bearing my upper arms.

Dresses or skirts?

Obviously to anyone who knows me or reads my blog, the answer is dresses! I love them, I live in them, and they're so pretty!

Stripes or plain?

Probably plain. It would depend on the garment. Stripes don't always suit me, and plain clothes can sometimes seem a bit boring to me.

Flip flops or sandals?

Both? I'm obsessed with both because I love the feeling or bare feet and they're the next best thing. I think I'll go with Sandals as they're prettier.

Scarves or hats?

Scarves. They're probably my favourite accessory, and perfect for layering over my dresses and cardis. Also, I don't have the head for hats.

Studs or dangly earrings?

Studs. I don't like to bring too much attention to my big ears.

Necklaces or bracelets?

Necklaces. I love long quirky pendants.

Heels or flats?

Flats. I like to keep my feet on the ground.

Cowboy boots or riding boots?

Erm... not overly keen on either... cowboy boots might be slightly more appealing.

Jacket or hoodies?

Jackets. They're such a statement piece, help bring an outfit together, and I prefer my clothes to be fitted. Although hoodies are so cosy, they're a bit too slouchy and casual for me.

Forever 21 or Charlotte Russe?

I haven't heard of the latter, so I'll have to go with the former. Forever 21 has some seriously amazing things, but I've yet to buy anything from them.

Abercrombie or Hollister?

I've never shopped with either.

Saks 5th Avenue or Nordstroms?

I've never shopped at either, but I've heard great things about Saks.

Hair:

Curly or straight?

Mine's straight, but I've always wanted curly hair.

Bun or ponytail?

Both?

Bobby pins (kirby grips) or butterfly clips?

Kirby grips. It's been a very long time since I last wore butterfly clips.

Hair spray or gel?

I don't use either very often, but I prefer hair spray.

Long or short?

Long... but over the last few years I've been getting my hair cut shorter and shorter, and warming to shorter styles. At Christmas I got my hair cut in to a long bob, which I really loved, but since I haven't been able to go since it's getting long again.

Light or dark?

I've always preferred dark hair.

Side swept or full fringe?

I prefer blunt fringes.

Up or down?

I generally wear my hair down out the house, and tie it back in to a loose bun when lounging around or sleeping.

Random:

Rain or shine?

Both! I love the sunshine- it's an instant mood lifter, but I enjoy a good rain storm, too. I love listening to the rain lashing down, and even going for a walk in it to get drenched.

Summer or winter?

Summer. I like feeling the sun on my skin; and enjoying the really long hours of daylight. Plus Summer usually brings a holiday away to look forward to. My only exception is that I don't like getting too hot, so it can get too uncomfortable unless I've access to the sea, a pool, or air conditioning (which is pretty much non-existent in the UK).

Autumn or spring?

Spring. I love it when it begins to get warm for the first time in many months, the evenings start getting longer, and blossom appears on the trees. It gets me excited for Summer.

Chocolate or vanilla?

Usually chocolate, sometimes vanilla.

East coast or west coast?

Since I'm not American, I don't have an opinion. I love the South West of England (Cornwall), and have had some good times along the East coast of England/Scotland in various cities.

I hope some of you will give this challenge a try, too!
