Sunday Favourites #4

Favourite Images of the Week
These are just some of the photos I've been pinning and tumblring this week. This little lot are my favourites of the week, and I hope you like them, too.

How perfect is this photo? The lady looks nothing short of stunning in that absolutely beautiful dress and petticoat. The outfit is perfect, I want it, and I love her hair. I know rockabilly isn't everyone's taste, but I love it. I really think I was born in the wrong era!

I love the shape of this dress, the pattern, and the cute shape above the waist which makes it look like a bralet paired with a skirt.

I agree! This is definitely an image made for me!

This tattoo of a Siamese fighting fish is so beautiful. I've never seen anything like it. I've kept several of these pretty fish over the last decade, but they're incredibly hard to keep alive for long.

And this is another unusual tattoo, which is a refreshing change. I haven't come across many whale tattoos, and this one is stunning. Plus, she has a Simba tattoo!

Make the best of every situation.

Ignore the haters and the 'rules' for dressing your body shape. Wear what you like, keep your head held high, and be who you want to be! Everybody is beautiful.

Never be ashamed to like who you are.

I agree with all of the above.

If you have a tattoo, chances are you've encountered some narrow-minded individual who looked down their nose and asked you if you've considered how you'll look when you're old and grey with tattoos on your skin. These people think tattoos will look out of place in a nursing home, that you'll regret the artwork on your skin when it's wrinkled, or as soon as you turn a respectable old age, and that you'll look awful.

I always say that when I'm old and grey I'll be able to look back and remember I had a life. I'll be able to remember I was adventurous and had a little fun, and allowed a little of my personality to remain with me all of my life. And, if the wrinkles aren't kind to them, so what? I won't look out of place because every other person from this generation is tattooed. And if the tats look so bad, I can always accessorize them with some old lady jewellery.

I respect individual tastes are different, and I don't knock anybody for reading for pleasure, but if I see someone reading a badly written chick lit novel, or a fan fic masquerading as a book (you know what book I'm talking about here), I will be tempted to drag you to a book shop and show you how to browse the fiction aisles properly.

Anyway, I hope you've enjoyed this week's favourite images, and that you're all having a wonderful Sunday.

  1. This is a really great list of things! I love the top picture, such a beautiful shot.

Also - I fully agree you can never have too many cardigans.

I also love that quote about tattoos - I don't have tattoos myself, but I have a lot of friends who do. I have to admit, tattoos are pretty common here in NZ, but still some people feel they MUST share their negative opinions when its really none of their business.

    1. It's perfection in a picture, isn't it? I want to steal the whole look.

      Never!

They're common here in England, too. I'd say every other adult under 35 has at least one these days. It annoys me when people think it's their right to judge someone because of their tattoos. It's only skin, and they're works of art. When my Sister got married, all I could here was a relative muttering their dissaproval of her tattoos ruining her wedding look from behind me. I really had to bite my tongue as it really angered me!
