Day 25: A Totally Me Outfit
Perhaps my outfits have been a bit predictable lately, but I don't think it
takes a genius to work this one out.
My Uniform:
Take a dress.
Add a cardigan.
Add leggings or tights if leaving the house, or if cold.
Accessorize with a quirky necklace.
Add a pair of flats and a beautiful bag if required.
And done!
Extra points for polka dots and bird prints!
Introducing my first asymmetric dress.
Surprise, surprise, another bird print!
It's not as full skirted as it appears in this first photo. My ceiling fan must have created a breeze to cause this shape.
It's little different to the other dresses I own, but still very me.
I'd been admiring this dress for months, but I umm-ed and ahh-ed over it and didn't give in to temptation until it was in the sale. I bought it because I wanted a way of getting out of my comfort zone, and the hi-low hem seemed like a good way to begin baring my legs again. It reveals just a little bit of leg at the front, while hiding the backs of my legs which I hate. The skirt overlaps at the front and definitely needs sewing together so I don't flash some unsuspecting person more than they want to see. It has an elasticated waist band, but in my opinion it's too close to the hips, so I find it more comfortable arranged a little higher.
I don't like the way the full length photos came out, but these'll have to do. The camera's made the dress look shorter than it is, but it actually floats down to my feet and hides more of my horrible legs.
I'm in love with the shape of the skirt! I wish I had more asymmetric skirts and dresses.
I love to wear dresses more than any other garment. They're so effortless and easy to wear, and are usually pretty, too! Best of all, I feel comfortable and confident wearing them. I don't have to worry about pairing two or more separates together- I can just throw a dress on and I'm almost ready to go!
In typical Louise behaviour, I added a (pink) cropped cardigan to hide the bingo wings (although it only stayed on for the pictures as it was just too hot to be layering indoors).
Don't you just love the bird print?
I've accessorized simply with my turquoise bangle and a cute necklace.
I love quirky costume jewellery. This necklace has birds in it! Birds! Anything with animals Incorporated in to it is very 'me'!
I love it so much that I've also got the same necklace in brighter, bolder colours.
