With just thirteen days to go til Christmas, we're running out of time to find the perfect gifts for our family and friends. It may seem like there's still plenty of time to shop, but Christmas will be here before we know it. Have you considered buying the lovely ladies in your life a beautiful new bag this year?
It doesn't matter if your loved one follows the latest trends or if the only reason she owns a bag is for utility- there's a bag out there for everyone.
It doesn't matter if your loved one follows the latest trends or if the only reason she owns a bag is for utility- there's a bag out there for everyone.
Whether you're on a tight budget, or want to splurge on a designer piece to treat that special lady, there are thousands of beautiful bags out there for you to choose from. I've put together some of my favourite picks from a purse friendly £8, to a jaw dropping £1775 to give you a helping hand.
£15 or Less
1. New Look (via ASOS) glitter heart box clutch £14.99 <-- Perfect for the Christmas party.
2. Matalan horse stud clutch £8.00 <-- ASOS dupe!
4. Matalan double buckle satchel tan £12.00 <-- This is a classic style.
Great bags needn't cost the earth. Just look how lovely these five are! The Matalan horse stud clutch is the perfect dupe of ASOS's almost identical clutches which retail at £30! Thus saving you a cool £22!
£25 or Less
3. Liquorish (via ASOS) mini vintage bag in oxblood £16.00 <-- I bought two of these!
4. ASOS scallop front tab across body bag £17.50 <-- this one's on my wishlist!
5. River Island brown foldover messenger bag £25.00 <-- I have this in stone.
You might be surprised to learn how easy it is to find good quality bags for less than £25 on the high street. I personally turn to River Island, Accessorize, and ASOS most often when searching for a great new bag at this price. And don't forget, there are sales and promotions running everywhere at the moment, so it's a great time to snag a bargain, and grab something of better quality within your budget.
I bought the Liquorish paisley bag (no. 3) for £16, which was originally £40, and it's not only beautiful, but great quality, too. I also managed to buy another bag on ASOS for £30 down from £68 last week!!
£50 or Less
1. Accessorize cutwork satchel £35.00 <- I adore the cutout detail.
5. ASOS scallop detail satchel bag £28.00 <-- I want this to use with my yellow polka dot dress!
6. ASOS leather scallop edge satchel £48.00 <-- A feminine take on the classic satchel.
There are so many beautiful scalloped trim satchels around at the moment, and for less than £50 they won't break the bank. I'm desperately in love with the two ASOS satchels, numbers 5 and 6, and I want them so badly! I think the mint green one would go perfectly with my yellow polka dot dress. I'm hoping to own them soon, and I think they'd appeal to any lady who loves vintage inspired pieces with a modern twist.
£100 or Less

1. Cath Kidston spot bowling bag £65.00 <-- Obviously I love the polka dots!
6. Cath Kidston spot weekend bag £65.00 <-- Dream luggage!
Now if you have a little more money to spend on your loved one, these might take your fancy. Any girl would feel spoilt if she found one of these under the tree on Christmas morning!
Cath Kidston stock a large range of very popular bags, which may appeal to anyone that loves quintessentially English patterns, from your little Sister to your Gran. Their red and green polka dot designs are so pretty, and their travel bags are perfect if you plan on whisking your partner away on a mini break this Christmas. I also recommend Topshop and Guess for high end bags.

6. Lulu Guinness black sophie fan clutch £595.00 <-- How lovely is this?
8. Chanel (via ASOS) vintage duffle bag £1755.00 <-- I'll take three at this price, please!
9. Guess fatal beauty box satchel £140.00 <-- This is so beautiful!
And finally, if you have the means to lavish a designer bag on somebody this Christmas, here's some inspiration for you, too. As you can see, I got a little carried away with the Lulu Guinness love. If I had the opportunity, I would probably treat myself to one of their Lips clutches before any other bag from any other brand. They're gorgeous and fabulously quirky. My only problem would be choosing which design. Cambridge satchels are a little cheaper, and extremely popular; they also come in a rainbow of colours. Guess also sell beautiful designs. Of course, if you really want to splurge, a piece of Chanel, Jimmy Choo, Prada, Balenciaga, and other luxury designers will always be well received.
Will you be buying somebody special a new handbag this Christmas? Or will you be buying any of these lovely bags for yourself?
I hope this has given you some inspiration.
Happy shopping!
