After yesterday's pattern overload, I decided to keep today's outfit simple to give my eyes a break.
OOTD
The new Dorothy Perkins cropped denim jacket with the sleeves rolled back, and the saddle bag I introduced in an earlier post.

I know, I know, it's a pretty boring outfit. I don't often wear plain clothes- my wardrobe is mostly made up of patterned garments, but I bought a few simple midi dresses to use as blank canvases. I had to quickly throw this together for a rare trip out of the house to buy Easter gifts. That's about as exciting as my life gets with my current situation! Rock 'n' Roll!
I picked up some new Garnier skin care products while in the supermarket. My poor skin is in dire need of some TLC. I've always had really clear, soft skin, probably as a result of moisturising every day since puberty, but seven months of medication, little direct sunlight, little fresh air, and too much central heating has really affected it. For the last few years I've relied on Boots cleansing wipes for cleansing and The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisturiser, which I still use now, (and skipped the toning stage), so we'll see if using these lotions and potions will make a difference. I've used Garnier skincare in the past, but not these particular grape ones.
Do you use these products, or have you in the past? Can you recommend them, or would you not?
Oh, and you may remember the Aztec-print midi dress I was unsure of from yesterday's post. I've been playing around with the outfit today, and came up with this.
I actually quite like it toned down with a black cardigan! I need to stock up on cardigans with full length and 3/4 length sleeves, but feel it's easier to wear toned down like this. I agree with the ladies who commented and think it needs shortening, but for the time being I'm happy with it like this.
Have a good night.
I reallyyyyyyyyyyy love the cropped denim jacket!!!!!!!!! now following you!

Thank you! I haven't owned one since the nineties, but i'm in love with denim jackets again. Thanks for the follow! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm a shortie so I am not taking any chances buying midi items unless it's through a petite line.
ReplyDeleteI love the print of the aztec dress.
Woot for denim jackets! I don't think anything in my wardrobe would go well with a denim jacket but I think denim jackets are kind of one of those wardrobe staples.
I saw your comment on DIY Fatshion asking about ASOS sizing. I'm straightsize but I would think the sizing of ASOS would go across the board. I've found that ASOS runs somewhat big; not overwhelmingly so but I know I'll have some room in my clothes if I gained a few pounds.
The good thing about an item being too big, IMO, is that I can take it to a tailor if all I need is an inch or so taken up. I hope I was of some help to you. I think that birdcage dress would look great on you. =)
Midis are great but they are harder to wear. I think it's all about the right proportions. I definitely couldn't recommend the aztec-maxi for shorter ladies. It's long on me and i'm 5'6"!
DeleteI think denim jackets go with a lot of different outfits, i'm sure you'll have something to pair one with!!
The reason i asked was the last time i bought from their regular lines, they were small fitting- though that was a few years ago. The aztec dress is very roomy though, so i'm sure it would all be roomy on me too. Always good to have some room, just in case! Haha. I don't mind them being a little big, sometimes a belt is enough to nip it in. Thankfully my mother is handy with a sewing machine, so she can alter clothes for me.
That was a lot of help, thank you! Thank you for taking the time to comment and answer my queries! That's really sweet of you to say. Who knows, i may snap it up soon. :)
cute!
