ASOS Scalloped Satchels

Satchels are easily my favourite style of bag. They're pretty, they're practical, they're effortlessly stylish, they go with almost everything, and when it comes to fashion, they're also timeless.

I have at least nine satchels in my bag collection (that I could list off the top of my head), and I love the traditional satchels as much as I love the more modern designs that are everywhere at the moment. ASOS in particular have a fantastic collection of beautiful satchels right now, and they've given a bunch of them a modern spin with pretty scalloped edging.

Scallop satchels have actually been around for at least a couple of years now, but I think ASOS' current selection is amazing. I've been admiring many of them for a while now, and as many of them are currently on offer, I thought I'd feature them today.

I'm going to start with my favourite design, the small satchel bag; it's so pretty and feminine. These bags have been featured on so many wish list posts in the blogosphere in the last few weeks, including my own.

I'd actually coveted the lilac version last Spring, but never got my hands on it before it sold out. You can imagine how excited I was to see it had made a come back this season. I promised myself I wouldn't let it slip away this year, and added it to my saved list where I checked on it every day, waiting for the right time. A couple of weeks ago, I fell even more in love with the yellow design, and last week, I was able to pounce. The £22 satchels were reduced to £18, and with a 20% off code, they were just over £14 each! So, I was able to buy them both without feeling too guilty. They're both beautiful, and I'll share photos of them soon so you can see how lovely these bags really are. The lilac and tan are now just £14 each, so this is a great time to treat yourself to one!

The satchel bags with scallop bar detail are another favourite of mine. I love the simplicity of the design, and how the large scalloped trim makes a subtle statement. I think that trim helps to set them apart from the average satchel; it's a little different. I would love one in mint, but the three classic colours are equally lovely and would be ideal for every day use.

I think the envelope shape of this particular style has quite a professional feel, and it would make the perfect work bag no matter what you do for a living. It would look equally stylish dressed down with jeans and a blazer out of work, too. I love the way the straps are woven through the front of the bag. Once again, I'm coveting the mint version. I have such a thing for the colour mint right now.

These are some of the prettiest satchels I've ever seen. The semi-circular, scallop-trimmed, envelope shape looks very feminine, and the metal tips give it an edge. I have a mint green satchel in this same design from A/W 2012, and it's one of my favourite bags- mainly because it's just so pretty! It's also roomy, which is perfect if you like to carry your life around with you like I do! I'm quite tempted to snap up the cobalt blue design, which is currently reduced to just £14... I think they were all originally £28.

These two misfits are also rather lovely. The tan is similar to the first three satchels in this post, just a little larger. The black satchel used to be available in several colours. I bought one in emerald green for my Mum for Christmas, and it's a beautiful little satchel.

And there are also a couple of gorgeous scalloped purses which would go wonderfully with all these scalloped bags. I still can't decide which colour is my favourite. Aren't they lovely?

Do you have any scallop trimmed bags or purses in your wardrobes?

Are you coveting any of these at the moment?

    1. I think satchels are so timeless, and I do enjoy using them with my dresses. I sadly won't be getting one of the purses as I don't need one, but I think the mint is my fave. You're lucky to have such fashionable kids to inherit things off! xx
