Sunday Favourites #42

Hey guys,

I hope everybody is having a wonderful weekend. Here's some of the images which have been inspiring me this week to kick start your Sunday.

These galaxy nails are gorgeous.

I love the colours and the blending used to create this look.

This dress is a beauty!

Amen.

I need this kitchen!

I could happily stay in a caravan if the bedroom nook was this pretty!

Pretty pastel make up and nail colours.

Cute little daschunds in crocheted hair scarves!

Would you believe me if I told you this was a sculpture? I still can't believe it myself! It was created by hyperrealist Ron Mueck along with three other giant sculptures which will be on exhibition at the Fondation Cartier in Paris until September 29th.

This is an American woman with a full tattooed body-suit taken in 1931! The article it's taken from "The Original Painted Ladies", is about tattooed ladies from the early 1900s, and I found it so fascinating.

Who can relate? Hands up, ladies!

This plait-within-a-plait plait is lovely. It's been a while since I last did something like that.

Can you imagine taking a bath with that view to unwind with? I'd never want to get out of the tub.

Just a couple of pigs swimming in the Bahamas...

I love this quote, and I think there's a lot of truth to it.

There aren't enough words to describe how much I love this outfit.

This is so pretty.

These German Chocolate Macaroons sound divine. I must be about the only person who's never eaten a macaroon (still), but I fancy giving this recipe a go. It seems pretty straight-forward.

I also like the sound of these Chocolate Coconut Pecan Pie and Nectarine Lime Fruit Tart recipes, and how cute are these Pumpkin Dinner Rolls?!

A telephone booth china cabinet!

50 Things You Will Never Get For Christmas Again. They don't make 'em like they used to. Who had one of these Polly Pockets? I did!

A man walking a crab... y'know, as you do.

22 Life Lessons From Cher Horowitz.

At the end of the day, big cats are just like overgrown house cats! (What is it with pets and cardboard boxes? My rabbits used to go crazy for them!) The leopard / jaguar crammed in to his box is my personal fave.

Just be yourself, not who you think they want you to be.

This couple recreated scenes from The Notebook for their wedding cards. I wonder how much she had to bribe him to go with it!

This is beautiful.

22 cats being cute. (Click the link for more of 'em).

Well played.

A huge list of cosmetics companies who DO NOT test on animals! I was pleasantly surprised to learn a few brands I love are cruelty free. I've always thought Benefit, Too Faced, Urban Decay, Bourjois, Barry M, and Stila (amongst others), were animal tested, so I'm pleased to learn they're not.

    1. They do! It's funny how easily amused animals are. (A bit like babies enjoying boxes more than their presents!) I haven't tried ELF, but I'm glad to learn so many companies are now not testing on animals. I don't understand why companies are still testing in this day and age- you'd think they'd have learnt enough about ingredients by now, and abusing poor innocent animals for beauty is barbaric. I used to walk my bunnies around our garden now and then to give them a bit more freedom (they had huge pens, but our garden is (was) too big to let them out loose)- they generally took me for a walk. Haha. Thanks, Sandra! x

  2. I adore these posts and will spend quite ages soaking everything up, as I do every week. I love that kitchen and the caravan nook, and the big cats in boxes are adorable!

Benefit are very ambiguous about their animal testing status, but sell in China, where animal testing is mandatory. You can read about it here http://www.logicalharmony.net/benefit-cosmetics-is-not-cruelty-free/#axzz2bfSbMlwR x x

    1. Aw thanks, Leah; I'm so glad that you enjoy reading them :). The caravan looks amazing- I could happily camp out in that, and the big cats do make me smile.

I think there are a couple of companies who've sold out on their no animal testing values to stock their make up in China... I think one was either Urban Decay or Too Faced (I forget which, so don't quote me on that), which is disappointing in this day and age. The sooner animal testing is banned worldwide, the better xx
