Day Twenty Four: Top 3 Worst Traits

I'm a couple of hours late for day twenty four of the blogging challenge, but better late than never, I always say. One of these days I might get organised! Hopefully I'll be able to make up for lost time now.

Day twenty-four requires me to share 'your top 3 worst traits.'

Well, I certainly have a lot of bad traits- I'm only human, after all. I'm not proud of any of them, but they're a part of who I am.

1. I'm a perfectionist, or as some would call it, a control freak.

I've always been a very hard-working person. With me, it's all or nothing. If I choose to do something, I will apply myself and work to a very high standard. I just like things to be done right, and done well. I will keep working on or correct something until it's perfect. It's been known to drive people I know mad in exasperation. I'm pretty certain that I've made many people hate me and my perfectionist nature over the years, and I don't blame them! I just like to see that things are done properly and not half-heartedly; I don't understand why others don't put the effort in.

2. Shyness.

I've been a shy person for my entire life, although I'm not anywhere near as shy as I was when I was younger. I barely uttered a word to anybody outside my family and close circle of friends when I was a child and teenager.

My shyness can make me a really nervous, awkward person at times, which can be misconstrued as anti-social, rude, or unapproachable- which I'm not! I just struggle with drawing attention to myself, having all eyes on me, and making small talk with people I don't know. I have improved greatly over the years, but as an introvert, I'm never going to be the life and soul of the party. I hate speaking to people I don't know well on the phone, to the point I even put off contacting the hospital or doctor's surgery to book or rebook appointments. I hate ordering food in restaurants, or answering the door when we get a takeaway, and I hate being approached by charity workers in the street. My timidness in these situations drives my family insane!

3. I'm indecisive.

I'm one of those people who has the most annoying indecisive nature around. I can takes ages to reach a decision when faced with options.

Are you in the mood for a chick flick or a disaster movie? Oh, I dunno. Should we watch this film, this film, or this film? Errr.... ummm... I dunno, you choose. Should I buy this dress, or this dress? Ah, crap, I want them both! Which Linkin Park album is your favourite, Meteora, Minutes to Midnight, A Thousand Suns? Ummmmmmmm..... nope, I just can't decide! It gets to a point where I have to ask the person asking the question to make the decision, or we'd be waiting all evening for the decision to roll off my tongue.

I can't help any of these qualities; it's just who I am!

  2. I think these are my worse traits too. I am so indecisive it can take me ages in shops to decide what to buy and I sometimes prefer someone else to make the choice on what film to watch or where to go on a day out as I can never make up my mind :)
