Dreaming of Dresses

It's no secret that I love dresses. Anybody who reads my blog should be able to see that. I wear them almost everyday; I could count on one hand the amount of times I've worn trousers this year.

I particularly love the ultra feminine styles of dresses that ladies in the Forties and Fifties were known to wear. Fitted dresses with beautiful flared skirts worn with glamorous curls and red lipstick... I would have loved to experience those decades. I sometimes think I was born in the wrong era. I blame growing up watching Grease, and then falling in love with the outfits in Pearl Harbour.

It's been a fantastic season for dresses; I've acquired many that fit my ideal specifications. But there is one range out there that puts my favourite dresses in the shade: rockabilly favourite Pin Up Girl Clothing.

Pin Up Girl Clothing is a range I discovered when I first started reading personal style/body positivity blogs on Tumblr last September. The dresses kept popping up on my dash on almost a daily basis; in particular from ilikeprettyclothes who always looks amazing in her vast collection. The dresses are currently a little out of my budget, but they're stunning, and I want to own them all.

Most of the dresses have fabulous full skirts, but there are also more fitted Forties styles. I adore all the prints; florals, cherries, a variety of animals such as squirrels, cats, and elephants; and cowboy prints to name but a few. I can't help but log on to the website regularly to admire them all. The above are just some of my favourites. I can't wait to be able to work full time again. I'm pretty sure I'll treat myself to one with my first month's wage.

Until then I'll just continue to admire them from afar.

P.S. Sorry that I haven't posted an OOTD this week. I'm not feeling too great at the minute, and haven't shed the PJs since the weekend. I'll try to put together a post in the next day or two. x

  3. i am in love with the pug range too! i think though if you bought a petticoat for some of your fuller skirted dresses you would definately have the look, and throw on some hot red lippy and a couple of flowers in your hair - oh i love me some glamour! x

    1. A petticoat would definitely work under a few of my dresses- particularly the flamingo midis. Style heaven! I'll just keep dreaming about owning the PUG ones x
