Emerald and Teal

I haven't shopped with H&M for a few years. There was never a store in the places I regularly shopped, and I've always been too unsure of their sizing to risk shopping online. The last time I shopped with them I had to size up as their clothes were a size smaller than stated; is that still the case?

Anyway, I wasn't too excited about their S/S range, but I got a catalogue of their A/W collection through the door last week and loved what I saw. There are so many beautiful pieces in gorgeous green and wine shades, and I'm lusting after so much of it.

These are just a few of the pieces that caught my eye:

The item right at the top of my wish list, not just from H&M but from everywhere, is the emerald green shirt. It's such a stunning colour, and I could see myself wearing it with so many things. I think it would work with several of my skirts and over jeans and jeggings. I've never been so excited over  a shirt before! I'd consider trading my Granny for it.

I also love the lace detailing to the t-shirt in the same shade, and the jeans (which come in several colours). I adore the colour of the fabric. If you ask me, this colour isn't used enough. I can never get enough of green or teal.

I think the pale blue asymmetric dress is another lovely piece, and would be perfect for catching some later summer sun in.

There seem to be quite a lot of captioned tees and vests popping up at the moment. As a music fan and concert go-er, these two immediately made me laugh and think of my friends. I know a few people who the black tee would be perfect for!

Can anybody help me with H&M sizing? Do you have to size up with their clothing? What about the dual-sized lines? Any opinions and help would be appreciated!

    1. I know sizes can differ from brand to brand, but by three sizes?! That's insane. I'm not too bothered about the size on the tag anymore, but remember the depressed feeling of having to size up when I was younger and not as comfortable with being bigger. I really don't know what size to try with shirts!

Aw thanks Rachel, I've been better but I'm still breathing xx

    1. I sometimes differ from garment to garment, and style to style, so can understand the size difference there. It's so confusing!

  3. I do get a few bits from H&M t-shirts and jersey dresses i can mostly get in a L or XL (if they have them in) i didn't realise a lot of the normal range when up in larger than an 18, it defo be tempted to order on line if it was for something i really loved, however i like to try before i buy, just wish the shops had a fuller range

    1. I've been surprised by the amount of brands I've found that go up a little larger than I originally thought while browsing online. I didn't realise H&M went above a 16 until recently. Stores rarely stock many of the larger sizes in their ranges, which is frustrating as there's a big market out there for them!

  4. i tend to get a size bigger a lot of the time in h&m (i.e. a ten instead of a twelve if i'm buying a dress that looks tight across the bust, or a bodycon dress) and then their other sizing are as follows: XS = 6/8 S = 10/12 M = 14/16 L = 18/20 XL = 22/24 i find that is quite accurate. also i have an emerald green shirt i bought recently as work uniform and it's last season's now, i might photograph it for the blog, i love green and wine colours too xxx

    1. Thanks, that's really helpful. Comparing the size guides to Dorothy Perkins, it looks like their sizes are up to two sizes smaller than they're labelled! You'll have to post an OOTD for that shirt! Emerald/forest greens are so underrated but so pretty! xx
