May 31 Day Blogger's Challenge: Day 3

Something I'm Wearing For The First Time...

You might remember a few weeks ago I introduced this ASOS dress to you all. When it first came in to my hands, this midi dress was unusually long and fell almost down to my ankles. It was not flattering on me at all, and looked very matronly. However, I still loved it, so I kept hold of it but hadn't worn it until today.

My very clever Mother, who has been sewing away most of her life, used her amazing skills and altered the length for me! I was torn between taking it above the knee, or just below, and well... you can see the end result for yourselves. I'm really happy with the length, and find it much easier to wear now; plus it's a much younger length in my opinion.

Outfit Details

Dress- ASOS.
Belt- Dorothy Perkins.
Bracelets- The black and silver ones were both gifts, the blue bangle was picked up in Camden.
Tights- Evans.

I dressed it with grey tights, as I still haven't got myself some black pairs, but you get the idea. I tried it on with black leggings, too, but tights look better. I kept the accessories to a minimum, as the pattern is so bold and the lace collar is a statement on it's own. I do love a good collar, and this one is something else! It also has pockets on the hips, and still has that shirt dress look with buttons from collar to hem.

I think a dress like this needs black accessories to give it a bit of an edge. My best friend gave me these two gorgeous black and silver bracelets for Christmas, and wearing them with this dress seemed like the right idea! I picked the blue bangle up on one of my Camden shopping trips.

I'd love to get my hands on a cropped leather jacket to wear with it as well, and desperately need to build my accessories collection back up!

The dress isn't the only thing that's been altered... If you follow my blog you may notice the blog's been given a revamp! I was up until 5am trying to improve the look, and making different headers until I was satisfied with the outcome. I still have a few things left to tweak, but think I'm happy with how it's turned out. What do you think?
