May 31 Day Blogger's Challenge: Day 20- Shoes I Love But Hardly Wear

Happy Sunday guys,

I was going to leave this post for another day, as my pain levels are through the roof and I'm really struggling to do anything but breathe, but here I am. I'll make this a quick one.

Today's theme is... Shoes I Love But Hardly Wear

Well, right now I could use any of my pathetic little collection of shoes as I love them all, but have no use for them since my injury keeps me in bed. I don't wear shoes in the house, and can count on one hand the trips outside I've managed this year.

I don't have a big collection of shoes, and I don't own any pretty heels. Shocking, right? I had to make a choice between bags and shoes on my old wages, and bags always won!

I like wearing favourite shoes until they're literally falling apart and unless something catches my eye, I always forget to buy more and keep wearing the same few pairs. I mostly wear flat sandals and flip-flops in the summer, and ballet pumps, Converse, and boots in the winter.I do intend to make a better effort to start collecting pretty shoes, though, as I love them!

Anyway, I've chosen my red sparkly ballet pumps:

I call these my 'Dorothy' shoes. They're ruby red and they sparkle like fairy lights on a Christmas tree. I love things that sparkle. I'm such a magpie!

I've had them for several years, but have only worn they outside twice. The reason being is that they always blister and cut my feet terribly, even when I try to protect my poor feet with plasters.

The last time this happened, I ended up limping around Liverpool in agony (after a concert), and by the time we gave in and got a taxi, my heels were covered in blood. Not a good look!

I haven't worn this in so long they're covered in dust... poor babies!

I'd been looking for a pair of Dorothy shoes for years, so as soon as I saw them I had to buy them. I can't remember where they came from as I've had them so long, but I'm determined to break them in properly so I can wear them.

I once saw a stunning pair of emerald green slippers on a girl in front of me in a queue. I never did find out where she got them, but I wish I had!

Well, I'm off to follow a yellow brick road to Oz. Don't wait up...

  3. i hope you are feeling better, you are a brave one, i am in man-flu territory if i feel remotely ill- its truly embaressing! i think sparkly shoes should be prescribed for their restorative qualities - they are mood lifters, i have a silver vintage style peep toe block heel mary jane (very mui-mui last season) i love them, i feel its the 1940's and i should be dancing x hope the pain eases

    1. Thank you... sadly not. Nothing else I can do but do my best to make it through each day. Everybody is allowed to hate being ill- it's never a nice thing! But I agree; a bit of sparkle is a great mood lifter! Ooh those shoes of yours sound amazing!
