May 31 Day Blogger's Challenge: Day 13- Lazy Day Outfit

Lazy Day Outfit Around Housemates/ Visitors

Well, as you may know, every day is currently a lazy day for me. For those who don't know, I injured seven discs in my spine early last Autumn, and have been mostly bed-ridden due to the severe pain ever since. I spent the first three or four months living in my pyjamas, and didn't see a reason to get dressed. My lazy days always involved changing in to a pair of PJ bottoms and an old t-shirt when slobbing out at home with the family, so this became my sick uniform, too. I soon realised my appearance was putting a real downer on how I felt every day (plus scaring unannounced visitors!), so I vowed to get dressed every day.

My lazy day outfits are now a dress or tunic over leggings or tights, perhaps with a cardi thrown on if I feel chilly. I feel great when I wear my favourite dresses, and they're insanely comfortable to wear lying down, as well as out of the house, too! So, really, all of the outfits I've shared so far have been worn for comfort in the house! I just keep the accessories to a minimum.

This is something most people would call a dress, but to me, anything that falls mid-thigh or shorter on my figure is known as a tunic. I personally feel self-conscious wearing anything this short over leggings out of the house because of my leg paranoia, so usually wear them over jeggings. It makes a comfy lounging about outfit, though!

The tunic has a white-sunflower print (perhaps they're meant to be daisies, but look more like sunflowers to me), a lacy peter pan collar, and a lacy hem. I love the colour and pattern so much, I also have a blouse in the same pattern. The cardigan is new, and has a scallop trim to the collar.

Would you call them daisies or sunflowers?

The outfit is comfortable enough to not cause any additional discomfort to my back, but I'm also dressed suitably in case anybody stops by. To be honest, I don't really care too much about my appearance around my immediate family, as they've seen me at both my worst and best. I dress for myself.

An outfit can really make a huge difference to my daily moods. Am I the only one who's mood can change with an outfit? How do you dress on your lazy days in?

    1. I'm the same. I get really embarrased when somebody comes to visit unexpectedly and I'm dressed like a slob. I've been caught out twice by the same colleague- hair unwashed in pig-tails, pjs on, no make up- nightmare! At least you're being productive doing your art on your off days! I had to make a change for my sanity!
